Well if it's your own laptop you should know your password.
BTW to remove that Password you should remove the 3v CMOS battery found on the motherboard. Here you need to take the laptop apart.

As soon as you turn on the laptop it goes straight to a dark grey screen with a blue box in the middle that says "ENTER CURRENT PASSWORD". I have tried the backdoor password that I found on the internet...

As you describe your problem I can see that your laptop asks a bios password. Well you have to open the case of the laptop and locate a small circle battery, this is the bios battery. Eject this battery and the laptop's battery and unplug the power cord. Try 2-3 times to power up the laptop (without batteries or power supply, just for the capasitors to discharge). Wait 5 minutes. After that plug in again the bios battery, the main battery and the power supply. Start up your laptop. Just before Windows logo comes up hit del (or F2) repeatly in order to get in to bios settings. Find the command "load bios default" and hit enter. Adjust the date and time and any other settings you wish (boot order e.t.c.). Save the changes and reboot. As you can see you are ready.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Unknown power-on password on hp dc5750 desktop

Sounds like somone has put What they call a bios/boot user password this is a password thatis used before windows even loads up.

If no one will tell you the password the only other way i know of to reset the password is to open the computer case and remove the CMOS battery which is a CM2032 button batter you cant miss it

Remove that battery and remove power to the case for a few minutes then replace the battery and power back on.

Dell inspiron 6000 will not let me sign into windows at the sign in screen for windows.

The diagnostic check is because the system didn't shut down correctly.
are your the administrator for the laptop?
The administrator password is the password that you put in when you install the operating system, if you did not give it a password, then the administrator password is blank. (Windows Vista requires a password).
you can try "Adminstrator" as password.

the choice is press F8 immediately after the BIOS start up. select "last good configuration" and press enter.
go to the following link and download the utilities if you need.
