If you leave loading draw or lid open and do a hot wash with no detergent water will enter replacing the detergent you will have to do this several times till wash tub runs with clear water then refill with rinse agent.

Vinegar or jet dry

both actually. Use a rinse agent (jetdry) in the dispenser and refilll and needed it dispenses about 2 tear drop sized drops on the rinse cycle, Vinegar will clean any nasty things left behind once cycle is done it can be used about every 2-3 months

Glasses have a film when dishwasher is done.

There are several things that could cause this; 1. The rinse agent dispenser is out of rinse agent(Jet Dry). 2. The dispenser is not working and is easy to replace by removing the four screws that hold the door panel on and the two that removes the dispenser(be sure the breaker is turned-off). 3. The water temperature coming into the unit from the water-heater is not hot enough. 4.Your water may need to be tested for excessive minerals or chemicals. 5. Low grade detergent may not dissolve correctly.

Put dish detergent in rinse agent dispenser by accident

Hello and welcome to Fixya.

Aside from physically removing the dispenser assembly ( which would be quite involved and include taking the door panel off ) you should be able to "nuetralize" the dish"soap" by adding as much "white vinegar" as possible into the same location as the soap...the jet dry reservoir.

In fact you may have to try this several times, but you could also try pouring straight water into the reservoir, but that will take some time since it is "soap" as opposed to detergent, hence needing a lot of water to de-lute it to much of a degree.

I'd go with the "white vinegar" and repeat that several times through a "rinse & hold" cycle. ( do not add any dishes or cutlery...run it empty )

You can also add a couple of tablespoons of "vegatable oil" directly into the bottom of the dishwasher and some of your regular "detergent" before starting the "rinse & hold" cycle. This will give the soap something to react with and the "detergent" will also help "neutralize" the soap,,,hopefully breaking it down as a result.

To answer the second part of your post...

The effect is going to be oversudsing in the rinse cycle since this is when the jet dry/rinse agent is dispensed in the cycle. So what I'm hoping to accomplish with these suggestion's is to minimize the oversudsing or prevent it all together until the reservoir is "purged" of soap.

Let me know how you make out. It usually works in the cases I've had...eventually. I've seen plenty as you are not the first nor will you be the last...we all screw up, that's life ;o)

Good luck.

White film on dishes and interior

White streaking is caused by too much rinse agent. (jet dry) Most all dishwashers now have adjustable rinse agent dispensers, so you can set them to a lower setting when you have soft water, and a higher setting if you have harder water. The adjustment is generally right where you add the jet dry. Other possiblilities would be a leaking jet dry cap, or a defective jet dry dispenser.

After a wash cycle my unit leaves a film on my glass'

first thing you need to do is purchase a bottle of dishwaser cleaner from your groc store in the diswasher detergent section red the instructions on the label add it to the cutlery tray in an empty dishwasher upside down remove the paper seal off the top of the lid do not remove the wax seal place the bottle upside down in your dishwasher turn on hot water tap and run till it is hot next turn on your washer set it to wasn and let it run a full cycle. when washer finishes open it up when it cools and fill rinse dispenser in door with a good quality rinse agent like jet dry close dispenser and when dishwaser is full of dirty dishes turn it on the jet dry will make your galsses come out crystal clear w no film and the dishwaher cleaner will help all your dishes come cleaner.Use the dishwasher cleaner aroun 4-6 wekks it cleans all the inside of the dishwasher and removes a lot of **** aND RESIDUE THAT ACCUMULATES IN DISHWASHERS OVER TIME

Where do I add my rinse agent???

Hello,

I have the same dishwasher, KUDS01FLSS. All you need to do is pour the rinse agent (We use Jet Dry) directly into that circle like plug with the line through it that you mentioned above. It acts like a funnel.
Pour the rinse agent in slowly as it takes time to drain into the dispenser. Just watch the little sight glass to the right of the rinse agent fill funnel. It will begin to darken (or turn blue if you use Jet Dry) as the dispenser starts to get full. I just pour it in slowly and when the rinse agent does not flow down the funnel any longer, it is full. Be sure to wipe up any spills or excess rinse agent. Hope this helps you.

Good Luck,
Tom

Rinse dispenser not dispensing the rinsing agent.

not a very common issue, the unit only spits a few drops of rinse aid every use, so assuming you filled the compartment , that will hold enough rinsing aid for 35-40 washes before needing to be refilled. is it possible taht you havnet waited long enough for it to use this much detergent?
