    Astro,
I figured as much but would the backlight cause the sound problem too? I've never ran into that before. Insignia wants $350 bucks to send a repairman out to fix the problem, so that's not an option. LOL I plan to fix this myself, as I've done on plenty of other LCD TV's and Displays but I've never ran across both sound and picture like this.
    Thanks,
    Rodney

Well for paying for this support, I don't know any more than I already did. Anyone can tell you to call a service tech and check your warranty. I need some ideas here, that's why I signed up. If I had warranty availability or wanted to pay $350 for a service tech to repair it I wouldn't be asking for solutions or cause and effect here.

Someone please help I don't mean to sound rude just frustrated with this and the responses.

I would concentrate on the power supply section. Look for bad filter caps or bad solder connections. The 5V line should be good, but check for the 12V lines as well as the higher voltage lines.

Hiya! Unfortunately, sounds like a backlight problem. I recommend contacting Insignia at 1-877-467-4289 to advise on warranty (or out-of-warranty) repair service.

Good luck!

Check for bad solder on convergence module. May have bad stk's. Do not neglect looking for bad solder on dsignal and defl boards. Some TV is very prone to bad solder.
