My notebook will not powerup

Try tapping F8 from a cold start and see if you can start windows in safe-mode. If it is a Windows machine. Please advise if your machine does not use Windows or what happens, as to whether the system starts in safe-mode.

Here is a guide on how to start a Windows computer in safe-mode:

My windows can't check for updates (windows vista home premium). it's showing error code 80244019

Press Win+R, type 'services.msc' and press Enter. Respond to the UAC prompt. Check that Background Intelligent Transfer Service is started and its startup type is 'Automatic.' (It can also be Automatic (Delayed Start).) If it is not started, right-click on it and select Start. Scroll down to Windows Update to make sure that it is started and it startup type is 'Automatic' or 'Automatic (Delayed Start).' If it is not started, right-click on it and select Start. If you had to start either service, try to run Windows Update again by clicking on Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update.

Windows will not start up

choose start windows in Safe mode, if it starts then everything will look big, don't worry about that for now. Then go to Start>accessories>system Tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that everything was working normally, when it has finished restoring the computer will restart. If asked choose start windows normally.

I hope this helps
