I have a 2007 Volvo 670. The check vehicle ecu comes on. The fault code is MID 144 PID 191 FMI 5. THe truck won't go pass 1400 rpm, the speedometer doesn't work, the cruise doesn't work, the engine break doesn't work. I have to turn the truck off going down the road at highway speed for about 10 seconds and it'll go back to normal. Can anybody help?

I RUN INTO THIS QUITE A BIT, WITH THIS COMPLAINT I START AT THE BATTERIES AND CHARGING SYSTEM, SOMETIMES ITS AS SIMPLE AS A LOOSE GROUND WIRE, COULD ALSO BE THE GROUND WIRES FROM STARTER TO FRAME AND STARTER TO ENGINE BLOCK, IF I DONT FIND ANYTHING THERE I CHECK THE IGNITION AND ECM POWER PLUG ON THE ECM, SOMETIMES ITS CORROSION IN THE ECM POWER PLUG, MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS CHECK FUSES FOR A DEAD LEAG FIRST BET YOU WILL FIND ONE OF THE 2 ECM FUSES HAS NO POWER, I HAVE OVERLAYED THEM TO GET POWER AND THAT FIXES THAT. I HAVE NEVER FOUND WHAT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE ON THE FUSE SCENERIO.
COULD ALSO BE A FAILED VECU.

Hi everybody i bought a volvo 2005 cummnis isx 400 and ETN auto shift with a culuch . it runns ok but give me CHECK and says check engine ECU at nxt stop and the trasmission wont engage. it says code 1 but the cod chart i found starts from 111 can any body help me pls tnx mike
i had the sameproblem with my volvo, and the problems was the batteries I have 3 bad of 4. Change batteries every 2 years

it hard to give any kind of answer to your problem without more information....
my first sugestion would be to check the wiring harness for bare wires shorting to the engine or frame...(volvo has changed the routing of the harness to resolve this issue) secondly if you you have the codes that would help narrow it down.(you should be able to call any dealer and ask them what the codes are and they will look them up. this will give you a better idea of where the problem lies.)

What is the code / codes coming up on your ISX engine? Will probably be able to direct you for repairs if you tell me the faults. Most mechanics like to change sensors without researching cause for these faults, that is all too common!

my truck does the same thing. Same year and everthing.
We have an '06 and it was doing the same thing. We had the an injector replaced and a fuse that was causing the engine break not to work
I RESPONDED TO ONE OF THESE COMPLAINTS ALREADY START WITH FUSES, CHECK GRAOUNDS ALTERNATOR AND BATTERIES. PROBLY DEAD LEG TO FUSES IN FUSE PANEL
