Having a blank or purple screen, plus the device is not recognized by Rhapsody player, then this is an indication that the device has a corrupted program or problem with the circuit board.

The first thing that should be done with the player is to re-flash or upgrade the firmware (software). This is the best thing to do to reprogram the device without opening the device itself.

If that did not help, that's the time that the internal components (circuit board) should be checked, to see if there are bad components that needs to be replaced.

These things should be done by the manufacturer, so that you can be sure that your device is in good hands.

Good luck and have a great day!

My ibiza rhapsody is showing up as a camera on XP and subsequently isn't recognized by Real Rhapsody. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the device with no luck. The solution posted on this through another...

this worked for me but I got it from some one else, good luck!

"Ok I think I figured it out.. With the mp3 player connected via USB, go into the device manager and it should be listed under imaging devices. Right click and select 'update driver', 'no, not this time', 'Install from a specific location' and 'Don't search, I will choose which driver to install'. From there, you should be able to select MTP Device. This corrected my problem and I hope it helps you, too. Good luck!

I have lost the connection between the SanDisk Sansa Clip and Rhapsody To Go. I do not see the Sansa Icon when I open Rhapsody. I Recently added ZoneAlarm as my Firewall protection.

I contacted the Rhapsody Support team. They directed me to the Control Panel on my PC, then System/Maintenance, then select System, then Device Manager. I found my device listed, then check error code, uninstalled device, shut-down system, restart, went back to Device Manager, click Action, then Scan for hardware changes and just followed the instructions. That did it. Thank you for the followup.

How to fix sansa clip rhapsody installation problems. it says i need to trouble shoot at 99% and then it stops. i alredy downloaded the firmware and it still does that

IMPORTANT: To function properly, your Walkman® player must be recognized by your computer as a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device. If the portable player was connected to the computer before the Windows Media® Player version 10 or later was installed, it will be recognized as a Mass Storage Class (MSC) device and not function properly. In that case, a different procedure is available to correct this issue. For some models, when you use the portable player for the first time, if you have not used it for a long time, or the battery is depleted, it may take up to 5 minutes for it to be recognized or start charging. On models with a display, the display will remain blank. If it the portable player is not recognized or does not begin to charge after waiting 5 minutes, reset the player by pressing the reset button.

If the issue persists, please Click Start and then click Control Panel . In the Control Panel window, click Performance and Maintenance . In the Performance and Maintenance window, click System . In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, under Device Manager , click the Device Manager button. In the Device Manager window, click the plus (+) sign in front of Disk drives . Click to select the Sony USB device . From the menu, click Action and then click Uninstall . In the Confirm Device Removal box, click OK . Disconnect the portable player from the computer. In the System Settings Change box, click Yes .

After that, restart the computer and reconnect the player

A mtp device

To put songs on the device while it's in MTP mode, you need a music program (Rhapsody, WMP, etc... I use Media Monkey which is freeware).

If you want to access the player as a standard usb storage device, go into the player's menu, and under settings->USB, change it to MSC mode.

Insignia NS-8V24 Rhapsody problem

burn the music you PAID for to a cd then rip it back to the system and use Windows Media Player 11 to sync the files to the device (only works if you have a burn feature in rhapsody)

Windows Media Player will see it all the time and is more compatible then Rhapsody with the device

New player, says I ran out of space

If you formatted it thru Windows Media Player, or Rhapsody, it didnt really format properly. Make sure the device is in Rhapsody Mode. Settings>Mode or USB Mode>Rhapsody. On your computer go to Disk Management. Right Click on My Computer and select Manage. On the next window select Disk Management, under Storage. On the right side at the top of the window you will see the device listed (i.e. Sansa e250r). Right click on the device and select format. Dont select any other options, just hit Start. Your device is now formatted properly. Best of Luck.

Rhapsody

You need to format the device to remove the preloaded content. This will also remove any mysic you have transferred onto it. First, change the device to Rhapsody Mode. Settings>Mode or USB Mode>Rhapsody. Then connect the device to your computer. Verify the device says "connected". Then open up the Computer Management on your Computer. Right Click on My Computer, Select Manage, on the left side of the Computer Management window, select Disk Management. Then on the right side at the top you will see the 'C' Drive and under that the Sansa e260 as well. Right click on the Sansa and select "format", dont check anything on the next screen, just press Start, or OK. Your device is now empty. Best of Luck.
