you really need a remote. if your tv is digital it might be that it self updates when the broadcaster sends updates through the signal. TVs are updated this way nowadays. Get a remote and see if it comes off

Have you updated your GPS recently? Tomtom had troubles with software on some of their units and did send out a fix when updated.

Normally, monitors do not have tuning electronics for capturing TV signals.
Therefore, consider the monitor as a "dumb" unit that only displays information coming from your computer. Also, this unit does not have a HDMI input, but only VGA.
So, you are fated to have this monitor connected to your computer, always.
Now, you may find good software that will "tune" the TV signals from streaming at the Internet and show whatever is being broadcast. The same way you can access YouTube and watch videos these TV tuners will get the streaming signals the TV stations send via Internet (not all do that) and watch the channel in your PC/monitor
Since I do not have additional information about the computer you use I cannot give you other ideas

I got the same problem a few days ago error#131 on my msntv2 unit. Tech support at msn said to start with the power on ---then push and hold (alt) and push power and release both at the same time and the power should shut off.--- Then push and release Power and Immediately push and hold down (alt.)---Then a Orange light should come on---Then release the (alt) key--- then enter 5532 5532. If that does'nt work then try starting with the power off---Then push the OK button 3 times then push 5532 5532. Mine didnt work so I dont know what happens after that. Good luck

This means that your TV is receiving a video signal that can't handle, in example, the video source is sending a 1080i video signal and maybe your TV only supports 480p signals, to fix this you'll have to adjust the video source resolution according to the one that your TV can handle, please check the technical specifications of TV in the user guide.
