My M1063 will charge if i play with the USB and move it around for a while, but my computer does not read the connection and ask if i want to upload my pictures. Is it a battery problem? The camera is about 18 months old.

Can I upload photos through the USB cord? If so, I am having trouble getting the computer to recognize that the camera is connected. What do I do!?

use the alternative. Obtain a card reader and insert it into the reader which in turn is connected to the USB port

Generally the USB should be recognised, but there is quite often this problem due to different levels of USB ( 1 and 2)

Uploading video to computer from Kodak MX1063

Check the format of your video file, it may be hidden if it has different file extension for which your computer does not have the application to view.

Regarding your files got deleted, you might selected the option to move the files from your camera to your computer instead of copy the files.

Hope this helps.

Go to Staples or Tiger Direct or Canadian Tire, or some dollar stores cary it too, Radio Shack , the Source etc.
Ask for reg -USB to mini USB, bring camera there so you can test it. You can get a 5 volt charger as well for about 12.00.

Uploading pics is crashing my computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Is there a way to send pictures directly from the camera?

You cannot send pictures directly from the camera. The pictures have to be uploaded to your computer first. Your camera doesnt have a "built in" internet connection. The easy share button is for send pictures to your friends AFTER they are loaded onto your computer.

I dont know how to put pictures on the computer from my camera

Dear Bernaaklt,

You will need a USB cable to link your camera to your computer. You can go to any camera or computer store nearby and take along your camera, so that you could buy a usb cable.

You could also order it on line, just google "USB cable for Kodak Easyshare M1063 camera".

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Can i charge my kodak easy share m1063 just by connecting it to my computer through the usb?

Yes, you can charge it through the USB port on your pc. Do not use any type of USB hub though. It may take between 7-9 hours to charge it up this way.I got this info from KODAK.
