Can you move the drum by hand?if not the pen is jammed in the blower wheel stopping the motor from turning,if the filter is on top you'll need to remove the filter, take out the 2 screws in front of the filter now make sure the dryer is on a flex line so you can pull it forward to remove the lint filter and then remove the back panel, now you need to remove the 4 screws holding the duct on that the filter slides into and remove the pen and any lint that's in the duct,if the filter is inside remove the bottom panel, remove the filter and take off the duct and clean it out, next time send model number

Old kenmore gas dryer quit working, I believe it may have overheated, I emptied lint trap, let it cool for over an hour with door open, it still wont work

If it overheated there's a good chance a thermal fuse or cutoff went out. Unplug dryer and remove wires from each one, temporarily taping wires together and seeing if it will start when plugged back in.

Dropped pen into lint trap. Now Dryer makes a screeching noise.

The pen has fallen into the blower housing and is hitting the fan blades.

Unplug the dryer!! Remove the two screws at the top of the lint trap. Remove the rear panel. Remove the four screws at the bottom that attach the lint filter housing to the blower housing. Then, remove the pen from the blower housing.

Smelled like something burning, then quit working

clean lint trap out more often after every load and try to vacumn inside lint trap lint tends to slip down below the trap and yes it will ignite from time to time My gas dryer did it once and yours it smoked and stunk but because I was home it never went furtherif you open bottom front panel if your machine has one you can get a lot of old lint cleaned out there as well...and most dryers post in their manuals the risk of lint fires

Lint is massing toward the bottom of the lint trap

please check your exhaust vent, where the dryer air comes out of the house, this particular pattern is very indicitive of a slow moving exhaust, you may need to clean the duct between the machine and exhaust as well

Dropped bleach pen into lint trap. How do I get it out?

its not too hard to get out.
you will need a #2 phillips screwdriver and or a 1/4" socket driver
remove lint trap
remove 2 screws at lint trap
unplug unilt
open the top (2 clips between lid and front panel in the crack, push them with a butter knife or putty knife to release top) opens like a hood
pull out dryer and pull off rear panel
on the left hand side there is a metal duct like thing lol
that leads to the lint trap at the top.
there should be 4 screws at the bottom where it gets round.
remove them, and wiggle the duct open. your pen should be there..

Will not heat

glow bar igniter ... - thermal fuse ( not all models ) ... - coil on the gas valve ... - gas valve ... - thermostats ... - motor heat switch ... - timer ... - selector switch ... - sensor ... All these will cause this problem.
