Does not power on, but lights flash

Does not power on - when power button is pressed and system is plugged in, it makes a click sound, the power, hdd, caps lock, and scroll lock lights come on, then shut off after three seconds. I cannot access the BIOS with Del, F1, or F2 during these three seconds, the fans do not come on, and the monitor's backlight does not come on. Removing the battery does not fix this. If I unplug it (with the battery installed) before pressing the power button, nothing happens. It just sits there like a brick. The system was sitting in the corner for about 1-2 years before this, and I left it plugged in for about an hour, turned off, before attempting to power it on.When it is plugged in, the battery light flashes orange four times, then green once, then orange four times...

Hi

Thank you for your query

The clicking noise you are hearing is one of 2 things

1) The CPU fan trying to turn but it cannot, therefore your PC comes on for a short period of time, overheats and switches off

2) The Hard drive is faulty and is causing a short, making the LAptop switch off

Either one will need further inspection by a qualified engineer

Please book laptop into a reputable PC shop for further diagnosis

If this has been useful please leave postive feedback/vote/testimonial - Thank You Again

Mitsubishi wd-73738 turns itself back on

Hi,

It sound like the remote is powering off the cable box but not the TV. The remote control may need to be reprogrammed to the TV. When you press power it may only power off the Cable box. At that point, try pressing the TV button on your remote and then Power. If it does not power off the tV after pressing the tV button, the remote may need to be reprogrammed to the tv. Cable companies usually have the codes needed to program their remotes to the TVs.

Have same tv HP 42 plasma, red light is on but no image or sound. all I can hear is a click sound when I first plugged it and another one followed few seconds after. what could be the problem?

Many LED TVs and other electronics have bad capacitors on their power supply boards. You can visually inspect them by opening the TV and looking for capacitors with bulging tops. If tou see any, replace them all in the power board section. Check to see if your TV is still under warranty first though.

Gateway computer power light flashes before booting up.

Hmm. I wouldn't have thought it had anything to do with pressing the button. It sounds more like a failing power supply or lack of current for startup. Did you make sure you plugged the power into the video card power connector (if it has one)? I know it worked ok at first but a heavier load can cause older or under-rated power supplies to fail soon after. Just a thought.

When turning power it makes a clicking sound but does not power up. battery charger has a red and green light on. When plugged in and turned on it flashes 8 times. I checked the power control connection,...

The chair will not move if the charger is plugged in. The flashes are normal with the charger plugged into the chair. The lights on the charger mean that the batteries have been fully charged. Red and yellow lights mean charging. After you unplug the charger from the chair (if off-baord charger, turn charger off or unplug from the wall) then unplug from joystick. after plug is removed from joystick press the on button and all the battery lights should be lit and when you move the joystick forward you will hear the electric bake release and the chair should move forward etc Hope this helps

My Sony Vaio PCV-RX860 won't boot and makes a clicking sound.

It's usual that new desktop PC's have fans sounds and keyboard LED's flashing during booting..There's nothing wrong on that, as long as you can get in to your PC OS.

Sony FWD50PX2/S 50 in. Plasma Television power problem

It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.
