I have a PN50A550 plasma tv and it will not turn back on. All other devices plugged into the surge are working just fine. My roommates were watching it today and it just went black out of no where. What can I do? All internal parts on the tv were replaced 3 months ago.

Samsung PN50C450B1DXZA 50" plasma tv works fine other than pink vertical lines on one side of the screen

Generally, any horizontal or Vertical line appearing on the TV screen indicates a faulty circuit. The complex circuit boards can become faulty from age, overheating, or a power surge. Power surges do the most damage, thus it is advisable to always plug the electronics (TV, Computer, etc) into a Back Up Power Supply (UPS) for protection. Naturally the Power Back Up must be relative to the Wattage of the electronic device. Like 1000 Watt for a TV.
As for the Circuit Boards, a technician with test equipment needs to check out what component needs replacing.

Lost sound on tv suddenly

Just check whether the mute button on remote is jammed. Then if that is ok, check whether you can listen to the sound on a Head Phone connected to the TV. Even if it works, the TV needs attention by a qualified service technician.

Have power to my tv but screen will come on

Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket. Plug it back after 5 minutes or so. this must make the TV to a hard reset. Try this.

When cut tv on it cuts right back off after few seconds.

usually this is a fault with the power supply in the tv. the capacators only hold enough charge to turn on the tv but not maintain the proper current to keep it on. contact a repair technition or the manufacturer.

When I turn the samsung pn50A550 plasma tv on, it just turns on then right back off again and keeps doing this. It started by doing this a few times, then would eventually turn on. Now it will not turn...

Inpsect the power supply caps for bulging/leaking tops first, also chek the caps on the sustain boards.

TV does not always recognize the DVD player

that's a firmware problem where your tv's firmware does not handshake with your dvd's firmware. This could be from your dvd's software being to old for your tv to understand it. HDMI (TDMS Technology) still has Alot of catching up too do with 3rd generation tv's. Alot of HDMI devices still have the first gen software loaded into them. So a tv after 2005 won't work with HDMI from 2003 (1st gen). Most tv's made after 2007 have software that's "backward compatible" so they will work with first gen HDMI.

How does your tv perform outside this problem???

Samsung HP-R5052 Plasma TV

It related with Power Board(50%) or Y-Main(50%).
But, if you use the power bar with surge protacton, need to check
the power bar's lamp when the TV is turning on & off.
