Sounds like you are getting RF feedback... this is because it is a lower quality RF Modulator. You could try to get some "Ferrite" "Rings" or Snap on "Blocks" and put the around the cables to mitigate this, or you could try somehow making sure all the earths are good. Reorientate the RF box further away,, even try wrapping it in Aluminium Foil.

I dont know what chords to use to hook up a dvd player to the pfm-42v1 tv. the tv doesnt have a yellow, red or white connection

Hello bobbylanetra,
if your tv does not have the composite connection (the red, white and yellow), I am going to assume that you have a coax in though. So what you should do is get an RF modulator. Connect your dvd player OUT to the RF modulator IN with the composite cable, then use a coax cable and connect the RF modulator OUT to the coax IN of the tv. That should solve your issue. I hope this helps or if not give me a feedback, good luck.

I have a rf modulator i dont no where any thing goes i tryed i just dont understand it i just brought a dvd and vhs to gether

alot of DVD/VHS combos have a built in RF modulator. Look for a coax (screw threads) output on the unit and it should be labeld either DVD/VHS OUT or just VHS OUT. If it does not have a combo out then you will need to use the seperate RF modulator.

Your combo unit should have a set of yellow red and white jacks that are labeled DVD & VHS OUT. Connect these yellow red and white to the yellow red and white on your RF modulator, then connect the coax (screw threads) out on the RF modulator to the coax jack on the back of your TV. There is also typically a swich for channel 3 or 4 on the RF Modulator, make sure you TV is on which ever channel you have that switch set to. If your RF modulator has a power light on it, it will usually not come on until your DVD/VHS is sending a signal through it and it is connected properly.

If you have an antenna or cable box, your RF moudulator should have an Antenna or Cable input jack on it that you can use.

I am trying to hook up my Philips 19PR19 (made in 1998) tv to the dish network receiver, it has 3 prongs diff. colors attached and the cable cord is already to go in the wall...I don't see anywhere on the...

Because your TV is an older one, it might not have, what they call RCA inputs (the 3 colored cable) Red-audio right, White-audio left, Yellow-video. If I understand you.

You do have the option of using the 75-ohm coaxial cable inputs. Signal comes in from outside to the 722k, Output of the 722k to the 75ohm coax input on the back of the TV. Tune your TV to ch. 3 or 4. Make sure the switch on the back of the 722k is set to the same.

If you really want to use the RCA colored cables, then you need to buy an RF modulator, which integrates older tv's to newer products. But usually dvd players, not necessarily cable boxes, but it would work if hooked up correctly.

You plug the RCA red, white and yellow from the 722k, into the rf modulator, choose channel 3 or 4 on the modulator

Connect 75ohm coax cable from rf modulator to TV 75ohm coax cable input. Choose channel 3 or 4 on the TV.

Hope this helps.

Hooking up a dvd player

Red and white are audio cables
Yellow is video.

Your problem is that your TV has no video inputs. TVs use those red white and yellow plugs to transmit the signal via those cables.
By cable box - do you mean a digital box? You can't run it through that unforunately - those connections are only for the box itself and it only has an output.

You'll have to go either:
Buy a new TV
or get an RCA Modulator.

Hook up of new dvd player to comcast cable box

I ran into the same problem, Radio Shack has a device called a RF Modulator. The model # is Model: 15-2526 | Catalog #: 15-2526, the price is $27.49. On the back there is a place for cable in and cable out to tv. There are the 3 rca jacks on the back also, 1 video (yellow) and 2 audio (red/white) That simple. Set the tv to channel 3, turn on the dvd player and it automaticlly puts the dvd on the screen. Turn it off and back to normal cable. Works great, I use one myself. hope this helps. Steve

My DVD player does not have a port to plug in the coaxial cable? What do I do?

If you have cable from the wall without cable box, buy an RF modulator. Plug coax into one end of rf modulator, and red, white, yellow cables from an RF modulator that has a RYW OUT to the IN of the DVD player, then a RYW from OUT of dvd player to TV.

If you have a cable box, use RYW instead of coax

There are other possibilities.

RYW means Red Yellow White (better known as a Composite or A/V cable)

No jacks in the back

Hi,

This is a very basic TV with only a single ANT/CABLE/RF INput. If you intend to use a DVD player whose outputs are the yellow, red & white RCA, then you would need either:
1. an RF modulator similar to this one or
2. use an old VCR to accept the yellow, red & white RCA cables as INputs. The VCR would then have to be connected to the ANT/CABLE/RF INput using an RF patch cord. The TV wold then have to be tuned to either Channel 3 or 4.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Trying to Install

Do you have the red, white and yellow hookups on the back of your TV????? If you don't then you need to get an RF Modulator. You can buy one at Walmart. Older TVs don't have the red, white and yellow hookups. You hook up the RF modulator with a short cable to the cable outlet on your TV. Then you plug in your DVD player to the RF modulator. You also plug your cable for the TV into the RF modulator. It really is very simple. Directions are included with the RF modulator. You will need a short piece of cable also.
