1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "Internet options"

4. Click on the "connections" heading

5. Click "set up" and connect it up to your internet. Make sure internet explorer is also set as your default browser. How to set it as default browser - Open internet explorer (with connection or without)click on Tools> Internet Options. Click on the Program tab, then click on the Make Default button.

If that doesn't work -

1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "internet options then the "programs" heading

4. Click on "make default"

If that doesn't work check on network and sharing centre on your control panel and make sure your 100% connected to the internet.

If you are and my connecting up to the internet didn't work try contacting your internet provider.

Hope 1 of my two solutions helped :)

Hi there,
If you are getting trouble after the updates of internet explorer..

Then I would suggest you to Roll Back it to the original Internet Explorer (i.e Internet Explorer version 6.0)

Which come up with Installation of Win Xp with Service Pack 2.

Bad Effect due to IE 7.0 or higher version:

Screen hang up, internet freezes abruptly, prominent windows crashes anytime.

So to stop these problems, better to run with lower and safe version of IE:

I'm running XP Home SP3 with IE 6. Need to upgrade to later browser...7 or 8. Can I skip 7& go right to 8? Is this a good idea? My computer dates back to 2003?

It would be a good idea to upgrade from IE6 to IE8. There have been many security fixes and upgrades to IE since IE6 was released and even after IE7 too.

I would suggest upgrading to the latest version possible for your computer!

Internet explorer (no add ons)

Internet Explorer (no adds ons) is a second browser installed with sp3 when you agree to upgrade to IE 7. It allows you to safe surf without any plug-ins like flash or other browser helpers. Its possible you accidently set it to be the default. Try to check which is loading and default and change as ncessary in ie options.
