The top rack is not getting clean and leaving soap scum inside and on top of glasses. I have verified that it is not clogged up and that it spins freely by hand. It's hard to tell, but I'm pretty sure that the spray arm is not spinning during any cycle. I think the water may not be flowing down from the top of the unit to enter into the spray arm, but I can't tell when I open the door. Please help.
Ditto! Tried running two cycles of Baking Soda and Vinegar. Small improvement. Would love an answer.
Hello--our Kenmore Elite has been showing exactly the same symptoms. Since it's under warranty I had a technician take a look at it, in fact he just finished putting it back together: problem was accumulated food and junk around the inlet filter to the pipe that leads to the upper racks. You can only get to this area by removing the lower spray arm, filter assembly, etc. until you are looking at the sump/chopper area. Any clogging should be self evident at that point.
This would be an easy repair for anyone with a few tools and the willingness to get into it. Seems to be working very well. We will be rinsing more thoroughly in the future...
Load 4 cups right side up in all four corners of top rack, move all wash arms to a known positon(pointing foward just want to check there rotaiton). start diswasher, when you hear it start washing give it 30 sec or so andpop it open try to focus on middle spray arm when opening, shlould be turning quite well. and glasses sould be starting to fill. at least thats how it SHOULD operate

not sure what to do... top arm is not moving at all.
Water will not drain out. Line is clear; believe the screen, etc. under the lower spray arm needs to be cleaned. Also want to check for any debris. Have tried the vinegar/baking soda soak, then added hot water, but to no avail. The plastic screw knob holding the spray arm turns but will not come out so I can remove the spray arm.
Water will not pump out of the bottom. Have tried the baking soda/vinegar routine followed by hot water to no avail. Line going out is clear. Tried to take the lower spray arm off to check for debris but the plastic knob holding the arm in place will not come off. It turns easily but will not come off.
