When i plug the wire from the xbox 360 to the router

When i plug the wire from the xbox 360 to the wireless router on the screan it says error and i does what it says then i try the connection and it still won't work

Just turn off your x box 360 and turn off your modem then take ethernet cord out and back in your 360 and modem then turn modern on and that should work. :)

how to connect the 360 to the Live network.
Before you do anything you are going to need to decide how you plan on connecting the bad boy. The 360 supports both wired and wireless connections. In order to use a wireless connection you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless adapter. Personally I find the wireless connection to be a bit too temperamental for my liking so I go with a wired connection via a router, but not everyone has the same wireless experience.
To set up the connection via a router unplug the router and the modem and turn off the 360. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the out ports of the preexisting router then connect the cord to the back of your 360. Plug everything back in and turn and give the modem and router about 3 minutes to reboot.
Once you have given everything a few minutes to reboot you can turn the 360 back on. If you have already set up a gamer profile you will see the Xbox Live screen. If you have not set up an account you will be prompted to do so. All you need to do is follow the on screen instructions. It is a pretty cut and dry process and should not take more than 10 minutes of your time.

Connecting xbox 360 live

if you plug the computer into the usb port a box will come up and you register it as for the adapter get the one for the xbox plug it in and go to the dashboard then console setting then xbox live connection then test connection and if it doesnt work try the linksys one or the wired one.

You may need to foward ports and allow the router to talk to your xbox 360. I do not know the ports of the top of my head but when u get the error from your xbox 360 that it cant connect look into where it says ways to solve the problem. It should tell you the ports. Personaly I am wired and its way better. No lag and no problems.

Turning the xbox 360 into xbox 360 live?

ok, so if you want to do it wirelessly you need to get the wireless network adapter for the 360. i got mine at target for about 100 bucks. You also will need a Xbox live Gold card if you are wanting to play with your friends. you can also get your subcription over the xbox by using a credit card. The setup is pretty simple, just follow the on screan instructions. I am assuming your dashboard uses the "blades". if so, go over to the marketplace section, and go to join xbox live. then it will guide you through the process.

My 2 wire is a home portal 1000 which doens't have wireless. So the easiest way to solve this is to get a wireless router and plug it into your 2 wire router (I did this) then connect the xbox 306 to that.

the only thing you need for connecting 360 to wireless is an Internet connection, an 802.11G wireless router, and a wifi adapter that connects to your 360. They have these at walmart or any gaming store. I suggest giving your 2-Wire back to ATT! NOT QUALITY. Especially for gaming.
I myself prefer my box to be hard wired as lag is far less. BUT..for wifi
Get a Linksys Router and XBox brand wifi adapter for 360. Also google xbox connect. Instead of paying for LIVE

hi, i would need a bit more information ie errors before we can help you, but theres only a few things it can be.
first one the router is it working on the internet
second if its a wireless router your using, go into xbox 360 network settings, and put in correct network key again.
if its a wire router and you have it cabled to xbox360 it must be the router thats the problem or a faulty xbox network card.
