Have a LG 42LH40 lcd tv. I receive service with a cable provider. When using The up or down channel button with the remote, several channels will be skipped that are programmed in to the set. The tuner or the remote seems to be skipping channels. This does not happen each time but is sporadic. Other LCD tv sets in the home work just fine so it is not the signal. I have re-programmed the set numerous times with always the same result. Bad tuner? Any suggestions?

Stuck on one channel

Is it the tv's remote? Change the batteries
are you on a cable box? You need to use the providers channel changer. Tv is made to stay on one channel like channel 3 and the cable box runs the different channels.

I have removed all cable boxes from my home. I cannot get the tv remote to change channels. I was told by the cable tech that I needed to do a channel search. How do I do that?

Which specific model do you have? The menus may depend on your model. Are you using the original TV remote or a different remote? If you do not have the TV remote, try the buttons on the TV. Use the channel up/down buttons to navigate through the menu items and the volume up button to enter a sub-menu.

Try Menu and locate the Channel sub-menu. Then make sure that the antenna Air/Cable item is set correctly. Then the Channel Search option is on the next line. This is the method for the LCD2050. For the TTM2901L, you need the same Channel sub-menu but the channel search is called "Auto Program".

A number of other manuals for Polaroid TVs are available here: http://www.polaroid-tv.com/polaroid-lcd-tv/manual/ .

I hope this helps. If you add a comment with your model number, I'll be glad to provide additional help. (Note: without the model, I can't be sure which tuners (NTSC - analog OTA or cable, ATSC - digital OTA, or QAM - digital cable) are in your TV. This may change whether you can receive any stations without the cable boxes.)

I just recieved the Sylvania LC195SLX from my grandfather, it has no remote, but we are using dish network remote anyway, the channel is stuck on 5, and i can't change any channel or get a signal from...

Hello! I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so. You can program the remote to the TV first and then use that for this, or you can use the buttons on the TV itself.

Remote to TV Steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Satellite picture back:

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.
If you are using a coax cable, the TV needs to be on 3 or 4.
Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2)

Channel scan only finds 1 channel with basic cable setup on LG 42LD520

if you have a cable box just plug the cable box into a scart socket on the tv, switch the tv to the scart input and use the cable remote to change channel?Scanning for channels wont find anything because you are receiving the channels on a cable box. If you are refering to standard or digital tv signals and your not receiving any channels then either you are only scanning analogue tv and therefore wont pick up any digital tv channels, or your ariel is inadequate to receive an acceptable digital reception and will need to be upgraded. please state country you are in and what you are expecting to receive

How to initial The TV? Problem: Only one channel available when connect a cable right now.

Hello:
It sounds like you need to do a "channel scan". For the LG 26LX1D, you can follow these directions:
  1. Press the "MENU" button on your remote
  2. Use the Up and Down Arrows to select "SETUP"
  3. Press the ">" button
  4. Use the Up and Down Arrows to select "EZ Scan"
  5. Press the "ENTER" button
This will scan all available channels. You can edit the channels by choosing "Channel Edit" in the same menu.

No picture just sound thru dish network

There are a few reasons that this could happen. The main reason would be that the tv is on the incorrect channel or input. You will want to make sure that if you are at TV1, the channel is on 3 or 4, and an input if needed, such as VIDEO 1 or 2. If at TV2, the channel needs to be on 60 or 73. Cabling is another reason this could be. You want to make sure that if you are at TV1, all cables going from the receiver to the TV are connected on the back of the receiver at the green TV1 location. For TV2, the cable needs to be connected to the HOME DISTRIBUTION output on the back of the receiver.

I'm new to the HD world...just purchased a LG 42LH40 a couple days ago...and have a couple questions to make sure my TV is operating right. 1) When watching an HD channel (CBS for instance) there is about...

Check in the manual or with the manufacturer, but the TV should auto configure the picture based on the signal.
I have a Toshiba that does the same thing.

There is no mistake when HD is in effect, as the picture is superb.

Channels changing on its own, sound increasing on its own

Do you know where your remote is?I have had it where it would do that for days and then I would find my remote was wedged into my chair somewhere and when I sat down it would press a button.Either that or check the wires in the remote and TV.For the changing channels do you look at your remote when you press buttons to switch channels? There is a common button, which, when pressed, will surf through all of your tv's channels.
