Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I caught your post and see you want to programthe Sony RM AV3000 to the DISH Network receiver. To have full access to the menusand functions of the receiver it is best to use the DISH remote for the systemyou have, I will send a link for the RM-AV3000 to help with the setup for theremote. If you have any questions please e-mail me at [email protected].
Unfortunately your Sony remote doesn't have any codes for Motorola cable boxes. Click on the link below to check which devices your remote will operate:
Try using the code search function as detailed in your user manual. If you can't find your user manual, it can also be downloaded from the link I provided. Occasionally codes for a different brand will work - not often, but it's worth a try.
you prob is the LCD actually if you can open it up and look for the small piece of info ( partnumber) at the back side of the lcd it can help you but the lcd al,one and replace this by yourself, google the part numer or search the web for LCD parts usually this things are quite available in the market,
Either the channel up and down buttons have both broken (unlikely) or everything else is working except the remote is not telling the device you are controlling to change the channel up or down.
Since all the other buttons are working well, that also requires that the receiving end of the pair to be working well, thus ruling out problems on that end.
Solution: Reprogram your remote to support the appropriate channel up/down codes for your TV/Tuner in question.
You can find out if the remote is broken by taking a camera with an LCD viewfinder (such as a camera phone) in a dark room, point the remote at the camera and in the viewfinder you will see a light coming from the remote if it is working. If you see a light, chances are the remote is good.
You may need to reprogram the remote.
