Can't install my lexmark x1185 on my new computer!
Just bought an emachine, can't get my printer installed on it. Even though I still have the disk that came with it and have even copied the drivers onto my computer, I get message that it can't find drivers. I've downloaded the software from the lexmark site that is supposed to be compatable with Windows 7, but no matter what I try it will not let me install it. Please help!!!!

Here's the link to the Lexmark website for the available Lexmark X1185 drivers you can download. I suggest not to plug the printer to your computer yet. Download and install the
software first. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9A3rmA. Click on the Microsoft or Macintosh dropdown to choose the version of your computer's operating system. Then
download and install the software. Follow the instructions. Hope this helps.

lower left under drivers and downloads.. click printer drivers and software...in the search by model box type.. lexmark x1185 ..... download. if you need a manual you can download it under publications.

Go to the Lexmark web site/downloads.
Assuming you have a window computer
plug the printer in and go to Printers and faxes
and clik on install new printer.
You will get insert CD or select from list.
Choose- select from list.
Choose- Maker
Choose- Model
Windows will take it from there
You will need to disable any virus protection and spyware protection. You can leave the firewall up.(unless it doesn't work. try it with the firewall off.)
Does the printer work on another machine? Does another printer work on your laptop.
