sounds like the power supply capacitors CP150, CP120 and CP114 need replacement. You can get the RCA repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the caps and the CD with repair instructions.
If the power indicator blinks 5 times its usually indicating failed capacitors on the AC in board. Let me know what cycle the power indicator goes through when you press power and I will assist with the problem.
I have mits 35" CS 3505 will not turn on... just turned off and thats all she wrote,,, what is the estimate cost of the deflection circuit board

It may have been the outer casing to the lamp and the lamp may still be bad - that's normally what the flashing power button indicates. Do you have a specific model number for the tv?
IF you would like help diagnosing your set. Go to the enclosed link. They have the service manual for your set and offer unlimited chat support for only 29.99. Just click on your sets manufacturer and you will see your model. Then click on the contact us link and provide your email address and they will email your manual and instructions on how to obtain your support. I am one of their techs. This manual contains step by step procedure for troubleshooting Your RCA DLP Light Engine http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
It has gone into protection mode. This is caused when a short circuit is detected by the power management system inside the tv.
Try a hard reset: Unplug the power cord for a full 4 hours; then try it again and see if it will clear the protection fault and reset it.
If the reset does not help you will need to have a tech look at the set and take voltage measurements inside to determine which section of the tv has failed and what components will need replacement.
The cost of repair is always over $200 and could be much more, depending on the specific parts that need replacing. If the ICs have burned out the repair is around $400.
The flashing of the standby light may mean something, but I do not know the diagnostic code RCA is using; most RCA models do not have any diagnostic blink codes in the set.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further.
