Go to the control panel and look for the Region and Language option. Make sure the options on the Formats tab correspond to your location. Then go to the Keyboards and Languages tab and click the Change keyboards button. If a keyboard for your location and language is not shown, click Add and add it to the list. Remove any other keyboards that are shown that you do not use.
The problem is caused by Windows thinking you are using an American keyboard in the UK or the other way around. Changing the Region and Language options above should fix the problem.
Best of luck!
I recommend that you do a system restore to the entire paartition on your hard drive. With ASUS notebooks, this can be done by restarting the computer and pressing F9.
Call ASUS directly.....sounds like you have something amiss that would be covered by warranty.
Have you tried using a different keyboard? If you have, or do, and the problem is still there is a problem with the computer or software....Call ASUS directly and they will get ya fixed up..they are good people.
