Sony tv there is sound but no picture only horizontal line

Hey buddy! i am a newbie technician i repair a sony tv model no.kv-19apr2, it has sound but no picture only horizontal line. i don'thave service manual, i have suspected that the problem might be abroken vertical IC, supply voltage at vertical section a diode or anopen resistor maybe. i look this IC number at the ECG replacement guidefor me to know what is the supply voltage for this IC and what pin buti didn't find it in there. so pls. help me, what more i need to checkand test before i replace the this vertical IC...

Hi there, one horizontal line means a vertical section prob., check some resistor with low value and a defective diode, possible ic part is defective. do some test and check up. ty

Red LED light blinks 7 times when the set is turned on; no pictur

if you have the circuit diagram of your tv,check the horizontal polarisation IC closer to the line transformer and replace it.If it doesn't work,send the question again.

the problem there is a loose connection on the board,you said that you smacked the right side of the tv and it goes normal.there are parts that should be resolder on the board in order to back into normal operation.

The 6 blinks mean no horizontal. Check the horizontal circuitry. I'll look up your specific model later and post more details.

Sony tv no picture only horizontal line

The probable defective part is the vertical IC. If changing that does not resolve the problem, check the capacitors in the same circuit. Also, check for the proper voltages at the vertical IC. If the IC is not being fed its power, it won't work either. I don't have a listing for your specific model. If you can post the vertical IC part number (LA7837 for example), I can list the voltages per pin.

Picture problem

Aside from the parts you mentioned check the vertical connection to the yoke (usually yellow and green wires), it may have a cracked solder joint or it could be burned. Also check the yoke for a broken vertical winding.
If the line is yellow with no other colors you may also have a bad color gun or drive transistor. If all color guns are working the line should be white.

Color lines/no picture

Well, if you still had a good picture before it happened, I would repair it.

This problem is usually a small part in the horizontal circuits. The service charges may be high, but the parts cost should be low.

This is a large heavy set, If you take it yourself to a shop you will save on the service call.

There are no adjustments for this problem,if the unit has been working good for 3 years and suddenly gives you this pix is time to call a qualified technician,among many reasons you might have loose solder conections in the horizontal drive circuit or poor regulation problem in the power supply,if you dont know how and where be safe and call a Technician.
