I see that you are having trouble with setting the temperature of your oven on your range, model# FGB24S5A, after a power failure. I also see that you have reset your appliance by unplugging it and are receiving an error message of SAG or 5AB. I have looked into the model number that you have listed and it shows as a wall oven. I also do not show either of those error codes you have shown. If you can please get me the model number off your range, so I can better assist. The model number will either be right inside the oven on the back of the door or it may be located inside the bottom drawer. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I am publishing this tip because of the many users asking me about the code 5AB on Amana, Maytag and other ovens.
Error 5AB in fact does not exist , and what you see written on display isnot 5AB.
The beeping sound is a warning because the oven is in lock condition. The oven is not faulty, and the code is not 5AB, but SAB.
SAB means that the oven is in Sabbath mode, and the control board will be locked for 72 hours with SAB on display.
If power is disconnected a new 72 hours cycle will start.
Depending on the model, there may also be a beeping sound when you try to operate the oven.
Push and hold the Clock button for about 10 seconds, until the display clears, that will reset SAB mode.
If that does not work leave the oven connected and off for 72 hours. If
the oven does not unlock after three days, then the electronic control
may be stuck in SAB mode because it is faulty, in that case contact the
manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual.
When I turn on my Maytag performa using the "bake" function, everything looks ok on the display, however the temp. never rises above 100. I've tried "bake" and "convect", and neither one work. "Clean" doesn't work either. The oven will lock, and display shows that it's heating up, but temp. never rises. However....."broil" feature works just fine. Please help.

This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range/oven Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when this error code is present.
1. Disconnect power to the range/oven (unplug the range/oven power cord or turn the power off to the range/oven at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range/oven has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing. 2. Gain access inside the control panel. 3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC/EOC. 4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was. 5. Turn the power back on. 6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound). 7. If the code comes back and the beeping as well, replace the ERC(control board). If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hi. your assessment is correct. when you have normal operations with the stove top and the control panel is blank or non operational, this will confirm either a wiring harness issue or a dead control circuit board. The wiring harness can sometimes become lose or the connectors can become corroded but, in this issue, i am sure its the ECB(electroninc control board). In this case, you will have to replace the board it self.
