I put a am/fm/cd player in my 94 jeep out of a 96 jeep everything was the same.
did work fine for awhile then i could not ajust vol/change chanels/or turn it off.
unless i took out the ant wire/and ground wire ,then i had to ground the ant wire to the radio case then put it all back .
then it would work fine for about a week.
when i ground the ant wire it would arc on the case .
why would it do this.also would this cause a 12 code to flash
Begin with the easy one. code is for battery disconnect.(if you had the battery disconnected while installing that will explain it) if you ground the antenna wire to the chassis does it still spark? Is it a power antenna? I'd make sure that somehow the clock and radio wiring is not reversed and that the radio is well grounded (you can add a ground from the case to the main dash rail if you need to. As with any used item, there is a possibility also that there is just something wrong with the radio, but I don't think that yet!
