Jura Capresso Impressa S9-
All functions are working except steam, pump comes on for a second and then cycles on and off. No steam or siphon. Any ideas?

I found my clog in the same area, the piston was OK but the metal tube the clear hose slid onto had calcified. cleared it with a needle and all is well. Thanks

I had a similar problem. I took off the side and rear cover, followed the hose that comes from the steam wand to the rear of hte unit. It enters a solenoid made by ACL Italy. I dismantled the solenoid unit by disconnecting the two hose ends, removing the relay, and unscrewing the plunger unit (vertical pipe). The plunger unit internals should move freely up and down like a piston in a cylinder , powered by a small spring. In my unit, this plunger was calcified and seized. I soaked it in boiling water and pressed on it gently several times and it unstuck. I put it all back together again and presto! Good luck

I have a unit that's less than a year old, and suffering the same symptoms. I haven't pulled the covers yet. Is it likely that I have such buildup in such a short time? Does the cleaning cycle not reach to these components? And finally, is there a schematic somewhere?

Hi,

Great solution - solved 80% of the problem I had - would also add to check the pressure relief valve (back of pump where water lines to thermo blocks attach). Noticed presure was still low after cleaning solenoid. Ran steam with cover off top (cup warmer plate) and notice water flow in clear line at top (you will see the line). Went to pump, pulled off hose block at back of pump, and popped (carefully) off the black cap which separates the water to the brewer from the steamer. Cleaned this needle and seat, and the spring too, and the pressure now is extremely high at at the steamer wand. 100% fix now.

Hi, no coffee is coming out of Jura S9. The water comes out of steam exit - even in cleaning program rgds

This is a really strange error, but it makes some sense if you own a S9 One Touch model. Then there`s a problem with the squeezing valve located behind the steam/cappuccino outlet. If this is an older model, then it could be a problem with the ceramic valve, but normally this makes the water flud all over the frontpanel and inside. In both cases, i would recommend to send the machine to the nearest servicecenter.

It's all plugged with 'lime scale'. That's the white stuff that builds up from hard water. Regular vinegar run through at least two cycles will clear it, then a couple with fresh water to rinse it. That will bring it back to normal flow!

No steam on Capresso Impressa S8

Most likely problem is over temp cut out switch. Small diode attached to the boiler to prevent damage during boil dry, or fault in the heating element itself. Difficult machines to repair and best handled by a service technician.

you need to clean / lubricate the "plungers". The normal clean cycle will strip off the lubricant over time. See my post here:
