Philips 20PF5121/58 - problem: very long start. It can stay 5 min or more (to 15-20min), with green indicator blinking, then turns on and then works OK (the picture and sound are not distorted). If i switch it off and then on, it goes on immediately. If it stays off hour or more, starting is a problem.

This is most certainly a capacitor in the power supply that has gone low in value, hence a low startup supply rail voltage. I would be looking in this area. Tell tail signs of faulty capacitors are from their tops bulging up with possible brown liquid discharge, or if their plastic base inserts give first with the pressure, these pop out from the can.

Testimonial: "Quite right! I've found and replaced 3 popped caps in power supply (same values and higher voltage ratings). TV is now OK! Thanks a lot!! "

MY philips 42 inch plasma TV model 42pf3320/10 screen goes black after a few mins sometimes. what can i do to fix it???

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
