Xbox 360 family timer

I have called xbox and they keep "escalating my call" and "will have someone get back to me". My son accidentally set a family timer for 30 minutes on his 360 and we cant reset it because we dont know the answer to the reset question either. Xbox told us that when they try and check his 360 by serial number it comes up error and the reset code you enter on the system info screen doesnt work either!! PLEASE HELP!! how can we just erase the whole thing and start over as if it was new??

Try Unplugging it for an hour or so (like how power outages ask you to set up your console) and ask him if he knows it...

or de attaching the HDD :) it's removable you know!
so much power for a little kid :(

If I understand you right, under my Xbox go to family settings and you can change the age rating of games allowed or turn off console safety all together.

I bought a used Xbox360 and the family timer is set on it. I want to reset this but unable to. There is a description on here that is a gentleman explaining how to solve the issue but its not working for...

When the Xbox 360 Family Settings are first setup, you are required to give it a four-button pass code in order to add or change settings.

There are two ways to edit or remove the Family Timer.

If you do have the pass code:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Enter your pass code.
  4. Select Family Timer.
  5. Select Disable.
  6. Select Done.
  7. Select Yes, save changes.
Now your timer should be disabled!

If you do not have the pass code:
  • Try contacting the previous owner.
  • Call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-469-9269

  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Enter an incorrect pass code.
  4. You'll be told that your pass code is incorrect. SelectReset pass code.
  5. You'll then be shown your pass code question and asked to answer it

Forgot password to unlock family settings on xbox 360?

I've managed to come across this from someone who called microsoft with the same problem (it seems quite common)
Go into settings Console settings Then device settings (The one with the blue screen)
Then go:
left trigger, right trigger, x, y, left bumper, right bumper,
left with left stick, up with left stick, right with left stick, x

If you have trouble use the pad instead of stick, but I could only get the stick to work..

I hope that helps

Family timer glitch for 360

Hi,
did you try removing the mains plug, and leaving it off for about 24 hours ??
not sure whether these have a CMOS battery or not.
option 2, if it,s a premium ( with hard Drive ) try removing the hard-drive. Password/Timer probably setting on there rather than the Console.
