Programming I have a bct8 scanner and was wondering if there's help out there with programming.Is there a download for people that just don't get it.Something I can load directly to my scanner.Thanks.

Read the manual, go through each step after you find out what trunking system they use in your area. Without knowing the trunking type you are lost. Radio reference.com can help you find out.

Sorry, but the Uniden Bearcat BCT8 is an analog-only scanner, and there is no magic that will enable it to receive and process digital signals. EDACS, however, is NOT a digital system. It's discussed at length in the BCT8 operating manual, which also contains step-by-step programming instructions for EDACS systems. You can also find a lot of useful information on EDACS, and specifics on systems in use in your area, at: www.RadioReference.com

Programming conventional frequencies into the scanner's PRIVATE bank is simple, but programming trunking systems is a detailed process that will take some research and probably some practice. LTR systems must be entered in a specific order so that channel 1 is 1st, channel 2 is 2nd etc...
Are you sure that the BCT8 tracks LTR systems? A Radio Shack PRO 92 tracks all 3 trunking systems (analog) including Motorola and LTR, while some Uniden only track 1, and some don't do trunking systems at all.

Hello.
Back to answer my own question.
I just found the problem. If you try to program one of these scanners (Uniden BCT8) and you keep getting a "pr9-loc" message every time you try to enter a frequency and "M-LOCK" is showing in the upper right corner of the display press and hold the M-Lock (E) key until it beeps twice and "M-LOCK" disappears from the display. You're now set to program.
