Replacing the battery on a mobility scooter

We have lost our user manual and need to replace the battery on our Pride Ultimate mobility scooter. How do you access the battery underneath the seat? Seems like the whole seat needs to be removed, but not sure how.

Hi, ok remove the seat by turning it to the left, there is a lever normally on the right side that will allow it be turned round,

once you done that, lift the seat in a upwards motion, the cover should come away by gemerally lifting it, it should be attached by velco underneath,

you should now see two batteries. 40Ah batteries will allow you to go further if the battery Ah is lower, 50ah batteries again will allow you can go even further NOT faster, if you buy the larger AH batteries please make sure the dimensions of the batteries will fit within the scooter battery holders.

GeWiz.

Help with a Pride mobility scooter

Pride Mobility Products

There are 8 different models of the Pride Go Go Scooter. They vary in number of fuses, size of fuses, and number of wheels among other things.

Your manual may indicate the particular model you have. If you no longer have the manual, there may be a model number on it that would assist in finding an online manual.

Hi Fred,

Good job on replacing the batteries!
With the go go scooter, a beep code of 5 indicates a solenoid brake trip. This means that the brake manual/freewheel lever may be in the freewheel position. This means that you can push the scooter. Remove the key and push the freewheel lever to the drive position. Restart the scooter and the code should be cleared and the scooter will run. Hope this helps.

My pride mobility cart over charges one battery.when i unhook that battery it sparks. if i leave hooked up the batterys run down.

hi, ok sounds like one of the batteries need replacing, if the charger cannot get the required voltage level it will over charge,

Make sure the connections to the battery terminals are tight and try another charger if you can.

GeWiz.
