How do I use the scanner?

1. Plug the printer into a computer on your network.
2. This computer must be on and remain on for the printer to work.
3. Add this local printer to this computer in "Control Panel" - "Printers".
4. Now share the printer.
5. Go to another computer on your network.
6. Add this printer (as a network printer) to this computer in "Control Panel" - "Printers".
7. The system should find the printer and add it...

The scanner will not scan to a Mac but Mac will have to scan a document on this scanner and save it wherever it wants. So open your Mac word processor and from it access the scanner and scan a document.

There is the possibility that the scanner assembly has jumped a tooth on the drive belt on one side so the scanner is just slightly crooked. To correct this the scanner assembly would have to be taken apart enough to correctly line the assembly back up. I wouldn't recommend that you try this yourself unless you have some experience at this sort of thing. Contact Brother for an authorized repair center near you for assistance.

printer 440cn does not print. you call the printing option and the printer icon star jumping for a while then stop.I then open the printer queue and it is empty. I am running mac OS 10.58 in my Imac

try to re_install the driver

its cheaper to buy a new one.

You might find an 2nd hand mfc with a defective printhead. you can use this as a spare part.

Windows 2007? Is this for a server?

You didnt tell us what windows version do you run.

Anyway, stopp virus scanner and firewall when installing the software. In case you still have trouble contact the brother hotline of your country who can be fond on the homepage of brother.
