Hi my name is jack i have a Kodak z981 easy/s .The battery latch would not close, this has been a recent problem

Jack, I have a Z981. When I examine the battery door, it appears to have two places where the door latches when you slide the latch to lock it. It may be that one or more of the metal tabs that fit into the two places to secure the battery door has become bent.
I cannot get the battery door latch to move if the door is open, but you should have no trouble identifying the two metal tabs that are used to hold the battery door closed.

Bought a new Lexar 8GB memory card and having trouble formatting it for the Kodak Easy Share V530

The V530 works with SD cards. Your new 8GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My easy share CX4530 won't

Mine did that and all it was is the door that holds you batteries in gets weak over time. If you hold or squeeze the door closed and it does not happen then you have found you problem. Clean the contacts and try to "bend" them outward to get a cleaner and tighter connection.

About battery door broken in Kodak CX7330

I've got 16 of these cameras and had to replace the door on 3 of them. (I'm a teacher)

it is quite simple, but there are little tiny screws and some dexterity required!
to replace the battery door, you need a super small screwdriver (I've used both an eyeglass size and the screwdriver that came with my son's tech deck!) . you'll have to unscrew all of the small screws that hold on the back of the camera. remember which screws go to which hole - because some are longer than others. once the screws are out, you'll have to gently pry off the cover. carefully - you dont want to crack the camera case. you'll also want to be careful not to touch the sensor, which will be exposed with the case off.

NEXT you;ll have to pry the little spring out of the battery door to actually remove the old door. you'll probably have to use a screw driver to pull the spring on the new door back enough to fit back into the holes. that's really all there is to it. replace the cover and the screws.

When you say you've tried every different kind of battery, did that include Lithium batts?

Lithiums are the only battery that ALL Kodak cameras seem to be happy to run on.

They have huge problems with alkaline batts, even brand new ones.

Hope this helps.

Are you using alkaline batteries? The Easy Share hates alkaline batteries. Try NiCad or Lithium.
