ERROR MESSAGE ON THE TI-83 TRYING TO GRAPH MESSAGE READS: ERR:MEMORY 1:QUIT CANT GET IT TO WORK ALREADY REPLACE ALL BATTERIES

  • Anonymous Feb 12, 2010

Is there a way to clear out the memory that is what we would like to do.

  • kakima May 11, 2010

You're running out of memory. Either you've got too much stuff in there and you need to delete some, or the function you're trying to plot is recursive or branching out.

Why don't you show us exactly what you're trying to graph, and let us know how much memory you have left (2ND MEM).

To delete stuff from memory, press 2ND [MEM] 2 to display the Memory Management/Delete menu. Select the type of data you want to delete, or 1 for a list of variables of all types. Navigate through the list using up- and down-arrow and press DEL to delete the item from memory. Press 2ND [QUIT] to exit.

My calculator won't let me graph or find the linear regression.

You have attempted to use, edit, or delete an archived variable. For example, the expression dim(L1) produces an error if L1 is archived

Every time i enter in something to graph like Y =5X-4 and i like graph my calculator says ERR:WINDOW PAGE 1:quit

There is no such error message from the TI 83PLUS. Did you mean WINDOW RANGE?
The easiest way to correct the messed up window dimensions is to reset them. You can press the Zoom button and select 6:ZStandard

Why do I get an ERR: Invalid Dim 1:Quit Whenever I hit the graph key?

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

If this doesn't do it, could you post the exact function you're trying to graph?

I am getting ERR:ARCHIVE 1:QUITE when I try to

I tried all possible situations where one would get an error ERR: ARCHIVED 1:QUIT 2:GOTO in relation to graphing, and I was unable to do so. Thus I cannot explain your error (in relation to graphing). I conclude that the error is unrelated to the graph.

As a general rule, one you get message ... 1:Quit, 2:GOTO press 2 and you will be shown the location where the offending symbol is.

Anyway, to graph functions, always deactivate the statistical plots
  1. Press [2nd][Y=] to access (STATPLOT) then press [4:PlotsOff]
  2. Command PlostOff echoes on main screen.
  3. Press [ENTER], calculator answers Done.
  4. Open the [Y=] editor to enter your function and
  5. Press [GRAPH].
  6. If you do not see any graph,
  • press [ZOOM][6:ZStandard] or
  • adjust the window dimensions by
  • pressing [Zoom] and
  • setting the Xmin,Xmax,Ymin,Ymax values
  • making sure that Xmin is less than Xmax, and Ymin is less than Ymax.

ERR: WINDOW RANGE 1: QUIT

There's something wrong with your window limits, for example Xmax < Xmin or Ymax < Ymin. Press WINDOW to bring up the window editor and examine the values, making sure there are no inconsistencies.

If you don't see anything wrong, post a comment here listing all of the entries in the window editor.

I get the error message ERR: INVALID DIM with

If you are in the stat mode and entering points in list 1 and list 2, it could be that one list is longer than the other.

If you are just trying to graph from the y= screen, one of your plots is probably turned on. The easiest way to fix this is to press the 2nd button the the plus button, then 7 and then 1 and then 2. This will reset to factory settings.
