Scanning from printer can't see any computers. says it needs the software. pc is able to print docs to the printer. when scanning says connection error - been trying for 3 days now uploaded all drivers to all 3 pcs and the printer still can't see any machines, still says it needs software - now urgent as i have urgent docs to scan and forward

How is the printer connected, hardwired / Wireless or USB cable? what is the operating system of the computer? Are you able to scan using HP Solution center or Photosmart essential software? if you encounter any error message on PC, please provide me the complete message.

For normal scanning you can go to control panel and choose the option of scanner and camera wizard and do the scanning but it is good if you install the driver of printer which is contain the scanner software and give you more option of scanning.

How do I scan from the Canon MP610? When I put doc on glass and press scan and ok, it says to connect to the usb cable and turn on pc. My computer is on (it's a laptop.)

Dear
three defects may cause.
1- change usb cable to different port. (test the port of pc with using pen drive)
2-do replace with another USB cable.
3- printer may defect.

remedies- Try to un install and reinstall the printer driver and its software.

Besides these trained personnel required.

Need to scan docs from scanner to pc

You have to install scanner and printer software came along with the HP 3030 model.Once setup complete it will try to do self diagnose the scanner connectivity.Then when you press the button on the scanner ,scanner will send the data to pc to activate the scanner software automatically.

Once a doc is scanned on a 8300 series all in one, how do I get the scanned image from the printer to a word doc? Looked

You can actually scan directly to an application(ex. MS Word application). Also, make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer (the software is available on the install disc that came with your printer).
1. Load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. 2. Press Scan Mode. 3. Press ? or ? repeatedly until the MS Word application is highlighted. 4. Press check button. 5. Press Start Color or Start Black to start scanning.

How are you connecting the all-in-one to the computer? Do you have the full-feature drivers/software loaded? (If you use a USB hub, try being directly connected to the computer. The buttons are sensitive to any intermediate connection that might block bi-directional communication.) Can you scan from the software on the computer? Check the cables and ports.

Once you scan the document, you need to run the OCR software to convert it to a document format for your word processor. (HP sent a version of the I.R.I.S. OCR software on the included software disc.) HP recommends using WordPad (which comes Windows) as a intermediate before going to a full-featured Word Processor.

Scan from printer through router to pc?

You will need to use the TWAIN software for the printer. From the computer you will be running the scan options thru the TWAIN software. Then the scan files will be pulled from the printer back to the computer. Running scan options directly from the printer will give you the option to print the scan files or send them to a memory card if your printer has a slot for one. If the scanning software is not installed on your computer then you will need to download it from the manufacturer's website.

I would like to use my epson stylus cx7800 to receive and send fax's. Can this be done. Please explain and instruct. Thanks. [email protected]

If you are running Windows, and have a modem, you can use the Windows Fax Services which are built in.

You may not have it installed, as it's an optional component. Go to Control Pane/Add Remove programs. Select Windows Components on the left hand side. If Fax services is not checked, do so, and press OK. You may need your original Windows install CD to complete the task.

"Cannot Connect tp PC."-Scanner help!!-~~

XP?

Are you trying to use the scanner by the pressing of the SCAN button? cause I'm afraid that feature is no longer supported in the all in one drivers now provided for that machine by HP. You can scan but it must be done via XP's inbuilt features there is a link below to explain XP procedures now required to scan.

They also do not provide Original Character Reconignition software but see this link on YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE OCR SOFTWARE

or if you don't you could try this free OCR program

oh and there is no facility to use the Auto Doc. Feeder on scanning any more.
