Printer failing to print colours properly

I have similar experience as soulomorphe - Printer was very good until quite recently. Then black type began to print as dark green, magenta seemed to stop printing. Have cleaned twice and checked print - actually got worse after second cleaning. Printer is just over 2 years old and has had regular but light use.

Does not print the black colour; all the other colours are perfect, except the black. I replaced the cartridge ( a completely new one ) and still does not work.

Try to run Head Cleaning utility of your printer. This will force your printer to recharge so that it can dispense black ink that you placed recently.

If you are using Windows:

  1. Click Start button => Settings => Printers and Faxes
  2. Locate your printer icon. Right click on it and click "Printing Preferences".
  3. Look for the "Maintenance" Tab in the window that appears. There you will see commands for "Alignments" and "Head Cleaning" or some similar commands.
I suggest that you just perform this once since Head Cleaning consumes ink.

The Bake ignitor in our Amana Gas Range (model #ACF3375AW) recently began to only work intermittently. Now it doesn't work at all. The Broil ignitor works fine. Any ideas? Thanks! Dana - Minneapolis

Hi Dana from Minneapolis...you need a new Bake ignitor, which is also called a glow coil. When it's working properly it glows a white hot colour and as it wears out it will glow an orange colour and needs to be replaced, this is why it began failing and then quit altogether. This is a part that requires an authorized gas technician to install for you. Good Luck.

I have a Epson stylus C88+ printer. It is showing that I am almost out of ink, however I use the black color 95% of the time, but the colors are almost used up. Two questions, 1- why is this happening and...

Very Simply, yes you can replace just the black. The low ink indicator is just scientific guessing, if you get my point.I use my inkjet cartridges until they quit. After all, It's my money.
And yours.Good Luck

My printer is not printing text in neither colour nor grayscale.

Go to Word>>
In new Documents

Type following with Big font size, their respective colour

BLACK
RED
BLUE
YELLOW

Now you will come to know which colour is not printing, in case any problem in nozzel or print head.
Secondly, go to Notepad and try printing somthing from that.

Please try this and provide your experience

Canon i560s prints all colors except black

I had a similar problem and found out that you have to specify printing on plain paper. If you choose paper other than plain paper, it will make the black from other colors. Check also that all of your cartridges are seated properly. My magenta was not pushed all the way down so I got green instead of black ink when it mixed the colors to make black.

Won't print black

I found a solution to the Black printing problem :)
Under Printing Preferences: Set your Media Type to Photo Paper Pro.
We used edible ink cartridges and printed onto icing sugar paper. Same old... Just one day it refused to print black. In order to continue our small business, I degraded the color until I printed gray and not black.

Tonight, I browsed for the problem and came across this :)

Hope it helps you too

"Banding" on Prints

Do a thorough manual cleaning of printerheads (where the cartridges sit). Many printers are notorious for clogged nozzles and the ink dries on he prinheads until it becomes a bandind issue or ladders appear, smudges too. Use a proper cleaning solution and cotton buds, until most colour is gone off cotton buds. Reinsert cartridges and try again.

Colour printing

Check the following thread, it might apply to your problem. and just as a printer can be fooled to show a low level ink, I guess it can happen the other way around. http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t103191,p342983/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R300-InkJet-Printer.aspx Good luck
