Make sure that all USB functionality is enabled in the BIOS, especially USB Legacy Mode. If Windows still does not recognize the keyboard, then it is not compatible with USB. USB keyboards can be found as low as $10 pretty easily if all you need is basic keyboard functions.

How to conect keyboard on my loptop

If it is a PS/2 keyboard (the one with the purple connector), your laptop has to have a PS/2 port, if not, you need an PS/2 to USB connector. If the keyboard is USB, just hook it up to the USB port of the laptop, and you're set!

Try connecting a PS/2 keyboard (PS/2 means the round connector) and a USB mouse (flat connector). What Operating System are you using? Windows '98? Windows XP? Some other OS?

My PC Concepts Ergonomic Keyboard with Touchpad, SK-6000 model is wearing out on me. I want another one just like it and have searched the internet, etc. but to no avail. Any ideas where I can find one??

I have found them available (used) for sale by googling "PC Concepts SK-6000 keyboard" (without the quotes). Also try Ebay and Craigslist. The mfr went out of business years ago.

My Trackman Marble FX stopped working after dealing with a virus. Never could get it to work, maybe I just wore it out. Bought a Logitech optical mouse but the left click is messed up. It locks and does a...

It could be a bad Trackman or a bad PS/2 Port.

1st test if it's the port by trying another mouse, or by trying this Trackman in another known working PS/2 port on another computer.  (don't forget to reboot each time you plug in a PS/2 device)

2nd, you can try using a PS/2 to USB adaptor.

These two have great reviews...

Dell keyboard SK-8115

(That is the the Num Lock indicator, nothing to worry about.) If it is not working it is likely because USB keyboards can time some time to be recognized by windows, let the computer boot up with the keyboard connected and let sit for up to ten minutes.

Sometimes if other hardware is detected at the same time which requires drivers to be installed, windows will never proceed to installing your keyboard, however you cannot install the other drivers until you have a working keyboard. To solve this, you will need to use an older style PS/2 keyboard to get everything installed and working as they do not need to be detected.

Asus M2N keyboard problem

You don't need a driver for a PS/2 keyboard nor a USB keyboard. The keyboard lights should lite up at post. After boot press the Caps Lock key and it will light the corresponding light on the keyboard if the controller works. If not it is the motherboard. If you are strapped for bucks get a mobo that can use the same cpu, RAM and drives. Good luck, Steve Medley

Sk-6000 keyboard

For the touchpad: if your keyboard equipped with standard COM connector try: http://www.acersupport.com/library/ti_note/2x0tpad.exe (older synaptics driver - working with COM port based touchpad perfectly) - or if you have converted it to PS2 connector (i converted my one from COM to PS2) you can use the latest generic touchpad driver from http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm . (sadly synaptics dropped support for comport based devices in the latest drivers...)
