The temperature is increasing and even when put on 'super freeze', the temperature is not increasing just slowly increasing. The model number is 7462SNH1 Please can you give any idea of a fix. A couple of days ago the door had been left not completely closed overnight and was frozen up slightly on the inside of the top of the door.

The SUPER button on a Skandiluxe chest freezer is typically used when you need to freeze food quickly, such as when you've just added a large amount of unfrozen food to the freezer. The SUPER function causes the freezer to operate at its coldest temperature for a period of time, which helps to freeze the food more quickly. After the desired amount of time, you can turn off the SUPER function to return the freezer to its normal operating mode.

Check along the back and sides of the freezer for any vent-like openings that are covered or blocked by packages. There may be a sensor that's not getting air flow as it should. Although most upright freezers are now frost free, there still can be ice buildup in critical areas such as the thermal sensor or the fan. Can you tell if the fan is running?

Even if the compressor has failed, your frozen items will keep the temp down for several days. I suggest you move the frozen goods to a neighbor immediately. Meat or fish in particular quickly becomes unsafe to eat without at least refrigeration.

Best advice I can give is to check out the manual, if you don't have it, try putting the model number into a search engine followed by manual and you might be able to get the info you require. Remember to always include model number when asking questions if possible.

If it is in a warm garage or the sun is shining on it through the window its going to run a lot. Try putting a thermometer inside and see what temperature is. Leave it in for an hour or so. It shouldn't be below 0 degrees F unless you have some high quality ice cream in there that needs a colder temperature. Slowly turn the temperature up one number increment every couple of days until you reach 0. Hope this helps and good luck.

DO NOT TRY TO MODIFY TIMING CYCLE.you would need to completely modify printed circuit board and inbuilt computer......some freezers cycle around 6 to 8 hours.the temperature can only be checked say every 12 hours to get an average reading

The freezer is probably in need of defrosting. This usually occurs when the freezer has been over packed. It needs to be able to ahve air flow through it, there are holes in the back of the freezer and a defrosting element at the top and they need to be clear in order to keep it frost free. It happend to me and we called an engineer out. solved it by using hair dryer to defrost it.

the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier.
