SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player Logo
Posted on Feb 23, 2008

Sansa 250R I have a Rhapsody account and the MP3 player had been working fine until I neglected to download any music for over 30 days, which apparently triggers a "please update subscription license" error and a little round red icon at the bottom of the sansa video screen. I've worked with Rhapsody technical help for over 2 hours and Sansa technical help for over 2 hours, with no luck. I can't reformat the MP3 player disk. Windows properties (I've tried working with XP and Vista) for the player's hard drive shows 0 bytes used and 0 bytes available. I've tried re-downloading firmware and with Rhapsody's help to work around the DRM (which I think is the problem). Before I have to ship this device out (which is frustrating) I was wondering if any of the clever among you had a solution up his/her sleeve. Thanks

U have no idea how many people say this but what I would do is reset it by sliding the hold butten on top so the orange is showing. then hold down the record button on the left side
Good Luck

Free Rhapsody downloads?

Yes you do. There is a way around the problem of having to maintain your subscription, but it gets expensive - if you buy an mp3 file from the Rhapsody Mp3 Store, it will give you the file in mp3 format, which will always work even after you let your subscription lapse. More expensive, but ultimately longer lasting.

How do i add videos

Rhapsody is music only. Videos must come from YouTube or some place like that. Then all videos must be run through the Sansa Media Converter, just like your manual says.

You must resynchronize to the msuic service (probably Rhapsody) every 30 days with this player, or you will get that error message. Two ways to solve:
1) Keep renewing your paid subscription to Rhapsody every month
2) Convert the files you downloaded from Rhapsody into Mp3 format

Vista not compatible with rhapsody.

I use Rhapsody with Vista. You need to go to Rhapsody's website (or Best Buy Digital Music Store, which runs the same software) and download the updated version, which will work just fine.

Purchased music from iTunes can be put on Sansa players as well when you set-up Rhapsody to manage your music. Have the program detect your music library and then all you have to do is drag and drop to your MP3 player.

Error Message

You have to synchronize your Sansa to a computer that has a current subscription to Rhapsody, and you have to sync the Sansa to that same computer at least once every 30 days, or the Rhapsody songs will stop working. Use a different music service that is free, or convert all of the songs to Mp3 format to get around the problem. If you get a subscription to another music svc, then you must maintain a current subscription with whatever new svc you choose as well.

Music download

There are a lot of music blogs out there that have MP3 downloads for anyone to freely download. Another is http://www.b3ta.cr3ation.co.uk/site/music-plus/ -just type a band name in and wait for the results.

Will eventually lose songs downloaded?

Okay, here's what i've encountered:  songs that I downloaded on rhapsody, without purchasing, only lasted about 7-10 days unless i reconnected.  once my trial period ended, i lost all the songs.  songs that i've purchased i've had no trouble (although if you load them to the sansa immediately after download, you may get the same message.  its best to wait at least 24 hours).  good luck

E250 mp3

The "please sync" error means you need to connect to Rhapsody and sign-in. It will update your licenses so you can play the music.

If thats not working, your account is expired, or Rhapsody needs to check your account.

Music stopped playing "synchronize to continue..."

Your device has to be connected to Rhapsody every 15 to 30 days to verify your account.

If you are connected and signed in, and still receive this message, you should contact Rhapsody Technical Support as the error is on their end. (866-597-5507)

Best of Luck.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

Do you have an account with Rhapsody? The preloaded music is part of the Rhapsody subscription service. If you dont have an account, you will receive that message until you delete the preloaded music, or subscribe to the Rhapsody Service. Best of Luck.
