The wep code is the security code for your wireless network. this is setting of the router.
Is there any computer online using the router.
check the IP address on that computer.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on
that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check
all the router settings.
Click Here for more information about the routers
and network

To configure the XBox with the router's SSID and WEP encryption settings, please click on this link for instructions :-

I suggest you use WPA or WPA2, this is a later and stronger encruption.

Im programing my x box 360 it needs me to program the wpa net work to get this new x bow to work. im new at this expain things very clear , thanks

Follow these instructions to set up the Xbox or Xbox 360 connections to a wireless home network. These instructions assume the wireless router is already installed with a working Internet connection. If after following these instructions you are unable to network your Xbox with the wireless router, see - Connecting Xbox to Wireless Networks - Why Things Go Wrong

Here's How:
  1. Connect the appropriate wireless network adapter to the console. On the Xbox, a Wi-Fi adapter that connects to the Ethernet port (sometimes also called a wireless network bridge) must be used. Alternatively, the Xbox 360 is also designed to work with certain Wi-Fi game adapters that connect to a USB port.

  2. Turn on the console and navigate to the wireless settings screen. On the Xbox, the menu path is "Settings -> Network Settings -> Advanced -> Wireless -> Settings" On the Xbox 360, the menu path is "System -> Network Settings -> Edit Settings."

  3. Set the SSID (network name) on the Xbox to match that of the wireless router. If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. Otherwise, select the "Specify Unlisted Network" option and enter the SSID there.

  4. Specify "Infrastructure" as the Network Mode. (Infrastructure is the mode used by wireless routers.)

  5. Set the Security Type to match that of the wireless router. If your router uses WPA encryption and the type of adapter connected to the Xbox does not support WPA, you will need to change your router settings to use WEP encryption instead. Note that the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter supports WPA while the standard Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter (MN-740) only supports WEP.
  6. Save your settings and verify the network is functional.

On the Xbox, the Wireless Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made with the wireless router, and the Connect Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made through the Internet to Xbox Live.

On the Xbox 360, use the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option instead.
Tips:
  1. Even when your wireless connection between the Xbox and the router is working perfectly, you may still experience difficulty connecting to Xbox Live. These issues can be caused by the quality of your Internet connection or the firewall and Network Address Translation (NAT) settings of your wireless router. Additional troubleshooting may be required in these areas to achieve reliable Xbox Live connections.

My black wireless adapter is contiuesly disconnectiong from xbox live and is always lagging in games with other people

Hello
Probably not the adapter.

Try rebooting your router/modem

1 unplug all cables and shut router down.
2 Find reset button, usually small button behind router.
3 Hold in reset button with a pen tip or paper clip for one minute.
4 Reconnect router and power up,wait for all lights to come back on.

5 Try x box or internet again.Double check your wep or wire less code in x box internet settings.

I have a wireless router for xbox 360. I dont have no internet in my house. when i try to connect the to the internet and join xbox live it keeps saying i need a a pass phrase of wep or sum other code. can...

I dont have no internet in my house (sic) without internet.. how can you connect???... anyway a WEP key is only available from when the router was first setup a "Code" is generated and unless know cannot be used. If that happens all one can do, log into the router with a browser, and then you reset the router, & set it all up again, when at security, make sure that the generated "Key" is stored safely, I usually copy/paste to a notepad document, for later use. Thats the only way.

My Xbox 360 Says No Wireless Network, 192.168 takes me to ask.com!

I believe you are referring to the network key set on the Belkinrouter. Since you do not have the code, you will have to access yourrouter's web interface.

Let's begin with your router:

Using your working laptop, open Internet Explorer type 192.168.2.1 (default IP address of Belkin routers) press Enter. It will ask for a username and password - by default it'sadmin for both. If it does not accept admin, type in the username andpassword you set to your router when you installed it for the firsttime.

Once you open the setup page of the router, go to the Wireless tab ofthe router (located on the left side of the web interface. Look forSSID and WEP key or Network key (SSID is the name of your wireless network). Take note of the SSID and WEP keybecause you will need to set this on the XBOX console.

On the XBOX:

Open the dashboard settings - select Network Settings. Configure your XBOX to connect to your wireless network. When it ask for the network key - type in the code that you will see on the router's web interface.

Try the steps I mentioned, give us an update and I'll reply ASAP if you need further assistance.

Good luck and have a nice day!
