Honeywell Thermostat RTH230B does not call for heat

It sounds like it's wired correctly given you can operated it manually. Is this a new thermostat? Has the program function ever worked? Ensure you have the current date/time including am/pm set properly so the program understands it's starting point. If that's not the issue try setting your temperature set points to extremes. If that enables your HVAC to react it means your temperature sensor is failing.

1988 mallard sprinter travel trailer electric heat, how do I use it

To use the electric heat on your 1988 Mallard Sprinter travel trailer, you will need to follow the instructions for your specific Duo Therm Brisk Air unit. Here are the general steps you can follow to use the electric heat:
  1. Set the thermostat: Set the thermostat to the desired temperature. The thermostat controls the electric heat and determines when it will turn on and off.
  2. Turn on the electric heat: The electric heat on your travel trailer is usually controlled by a switch or a button on the thermostat or on the unit itself. Turn on the electric heat by flipping the switch or pressing the button.
  3. Adjust the temperature: Use the thermostat to adjust the temperature as needed. The electric heat will turn on and off as needed to maintain the desired temperature.
  4. Turn off the electric heat: When you are finished using the electric heat, turn it off by flipping the switch or pressing the button.
If you are having difficulty using the electric heat or are unsure about how to operate your specific Duo Therm Brisk Air unit, you may want to refer to the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance. They will be able to provide you with specific instructions for your unit and help you troubleshoot any issues you may be experiencing.

No heat turned on but no heat coming out

Try turning on the heat and see if heat comes out? If you turn on the heat and cold air blows you may have a bad heater core. More than likely a repair shop would need to fix it.

Furnace switches to auxiliary heat while in cool

It's likely a bad tstat. Turn the power off to your air handler. Remove red , green, yellow and orange wires inside the tstat and wire nut them together. Not sure if your reversing valve energizes in heating or cooling but, turn the power back on. If the unit is heating turn the power off and remove just the orange wire and turn power back on. Let this run and see if it you are ONLY getting cool air ALL the time. If so you have a bad stat. If still getting heat possibly you have a bad control board in the air handler. Good Luck!!

What does the "auxillary heat"

Auxiliary Heat is used to turn the electric heat strips ON, If the heat pump is not working. Or if the heat pump can't bring the space temperature up to Set Temperature it will display Aux Heat ON....... Assuming you have a Heat Pump System with Auxiliary Electric Heat as Back up...... If the tech didn't install a jumper wire from AUX to W on the subase which is in back of the Display on the Thermostat.....you won't get Auxiliary Heat if the Thermostat is set for Auxiliary Heat. Other wise the thermostat will turn the heat pump on first and then the electric heat (Aux Heat) if it needs it to satisfy the set temperature....... Hope this helps

I just turned on our heat unit "FA4A AC/Heat Pump"

There probably isn't a reset button=magic fix. With it in heat pump mode and tstat set above indoor temp, check your outdoor unit to see if it's operating. If not, check all breakers to it. Can you see any ice accumulated on the outdoor unit? If it is running and not producing heat, turn the tstat to emergency/auxiliary heat. and the heat pump turned off to prevent damage. You'll need a service tech.
