Amana Distinction super capacity plus 3.3 stainless tub...works great, no vibration, but in the spin cycle it has started to roar, being very loud. Why did this start..could it be the idler roller for the drive belt ? sounds like the cowling but spin is very smooth. so loud that you might think the wash room door is open. started about 3 months ago. unit is probably 5 years old.

You have a tub seal that has leaked and the tub bearing has gotten wet and started to rust. This problem will continue to get worse and louder until the tub bearing falls apart. This is a major repair , the parts are not that expensive to replace, ( about $60.00 )but the labor involved is major. In some cases the washer is replaced for this problem. I also would not recommend you attempt this repair yourself. This job takes a professional about 3-5 hours, and sometimes the seal will leak again anyway. If you do decide to attempt this repair I will try to find you a detailed step by step guide. But, be prepaired to replace the machine if the repair fails. It is a major job. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but its not a horse so shoot it and get another one. that would be my suggestion.

It sounds like your bearings are are whacked, if you have vertical
movement in the drum the bearings will need replacing , not a simple job as seals also need replacing

Maytag Top Load Washer MVWB850YW making loud noise in spin cycle.

If it's a roaring noise, the tub bearing is probably wearing out. Spin the tub a little with your hand, if you hear a little of the roar, that's it.

I have a kenmore elite total care flex king size capacity plus quiet pak2 oasis that makes loud noises like a airplane when its in the spin cycle Model #110.28032701 which parts should be change?

If the washer is roaring during spin, the bearings are bad and you will need to replace the outer tub assembly.
Here is the part to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return.

Washing machine making loud roaring sound during spin cycle

Very likely the main bearing and drum shaft-inner tub will need replace. Not worth repairing, easily can cost more than the washer. Buy a new whirlpool front load duet, super capacity or the top load whirlpool with and agitator. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

if the drive coupler is broken it won't wash or spin. Does it have a removable lower access panel on the front? if so its an amana. see if u can manually turn the transmission pully both directions. AND make sure there is nothing holding the tub ie nail through tub whole garment between tubs etc.

Hi, I have a 5yr old Amana Distinctions Super Capacity Plus top load washer, 2spd motor, 3.3 cu ft. I have taken off the front cover to expose the wash tub, because recently when the washer is in a spin...

sounds like a drain pump issue, not able to remove water quick enough before the centrifical force of tub spinning throws it over the top, remove the pump hoses and look for blockages

Pounding noise after wash and final spin

  • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.
