I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P71. The memory stick is just 16MB. I bought a memory stick adaptor with a 1GB ScanDisk card and for some reason it does not work. It states there is a memory error when inserted. Help.

The DSC-P71 Camera is compatible only with the 32MB / 64MB / 128MB Memory Stick Duo only. Standard Memory Stick media cannot be used with this Camera. It's bit hard to find out these Memory Sticks as most of the Companies discontinued manufacturing low capacity Memory Sticks. However you can try contacting a Sony Store or any Sony dealers near your area to get one.
It takes <Memory Stick>, which is a Sony Proprietary format. Note that this is NOT the same as <Memory Stick Pro Duo>, or <Micro M2>, and although both of these could be used with an adaptor. The camera itself was originally supplied with a 16MB card.
what do you mean nothing happens???
the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!
