Logitech quickcam pro 5000

I'm running quickcam with skype. While communicating with another person, his image and voice come through to me, but he only receives my audio. Is the problem with the skype installation or is it a webcam issue. Or is it a configuration issue.

  • Susie65 Apr 12, 2008

While using Skype I can see and hear my contacts but they can't see me. Neither I can see myself when I check quick capture on the webcam. I've already reinstalled the webcam w/o success.

I am new at using Skype. I have had a logitrech Communicate stx Web Cam installed. I notice there appears to be what one would think are microphone holes at the base of the lens as well as the writing...

You are correct.
For Logitech to work with Skype you need to install the Logitech driver for your model WEBcab. Then you need to configure Skype to use the Logitech WEBcam and microphone.

To test if the Logitech QuickCam is functioning, check the USB cable; make sure it is connected properly. Then click on Start - All Program - Logitech - Logitech QuickCam and see if you can get the camera to capture your image/video.
If this works then configure Skype. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the Logitech QuickCam
Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.
Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub, connect it directly to the computer's USB port.

Logitech Quickcam Communicate Delux Auidio Problems with Skype

I had a similar problem, the solution was as simple as not playing your voice through the speakers. The problem sounds like one of feedback. There are companies that sell phones that hook up to your usb port and will not cause this type of problem. Another solution may be lowering the volume on your mic.
