I have aSaitek Eclipse. Suddenly about a week ago my computer started opening Adobe Acrobat Pro on its own and then opening the Windows search tool and would search for "asdasdasdadsdasdsdassdassda". I figured I had a virus but after all the major virus protection companies could not find one (Symantec, McAffee, Panda, Trend Micro). I ended up unplugging the keyboard and the problem stopped. I'm wondering if some new software I installed or something I uninstalled messed with the keyboard? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
HAHAHA. This is old but i found out what the problem is. Hope this helps some people. All you have to do is press the illumination button at the top right of your keyboard until the keyboard backlighting is turned off and now the keyboard no longer randomly types.
I have exactly the same problem. Have checked for virus, keyloggers etc and found nothing. Did you find a solution?
I ended up taking the keyboard out and going back to an old ps2 one for now.
My Saitek is doing the same thing, and has for a while. It seems posessed and I would swear a virus, worm, or trojan is hidden in the keyboard device.
None of the spyware shows more than cookies as well, although some trojans were blocked 8-10 days ago.
Fed up with the Saitek, the number pad "enter" key jibberish issue, and it opening the windows search, and wanting to change access and programs, and even locking my PC is safe mode.
It is going to be broken in half, and I am off to buy a good old Microsoft keyboard at lunch today.
This isn't software or a virus or even a ghost in your keyboard.
You have some "sticky" keys. Have a look very closely around those keys and make sure something small hasn't fallen between the keys preventing them from operating correctly.
You may have also had some liquid spint on that section (not by you) and you didn't realise.
Unplug the keyboard, turn it over in the air and give it a good shaking (don't beat it or hit it) just shake it and see if you can hear anything possibly lodged in there...maybe a midnight snack =)

lol theres nothing on my keyboard and i have the same problem.. My problem lies on the return key on the ten key side... when i click it, I get the letter K, when i click it fast more than once, I get the letters dfjkasdf The arrow keys open up either notepad, or the calculator when I'm in my online game. This is very frustrating ;/
same here, there is no opening of stuff randomly, but my keyboard acts like someone has their finger permanently on the period button, I have disassembled and cleaned it, but if I plug it back in, it starts typing period with no end
Mark.. thanks for trying.. but dont you think we tried that already? hmm? No food particle is going to open up different programs when we hit the arrow keys.. !!
The start menu randomly opens and begins a search (Vista Ultimate x86), the keys will randomly get stuck although I am not pressing any keys at the time it happens (ghost keyboard operator). The only solution so far is a reboot, allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllsssssssssssssssssslllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Hmm, yeah, I took the thing apart, and cleaned it thoroughly, I am pretty sure i got all of the midnight/3 am snacks out of it... some other tech sites suggest a firmware issue, but nothing seems to be in stone on the issue
