I turn the tv on it stay on for one second then it goes off thats when the lamp button comes on its red. then the red light comes on and it stays on although the tv is off the red lamp light is still on

Your lamp timer may be maxed out which means you should change the lamp and reset the lamp timer. When the timer max's out it won't turn on till it is reset.

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

Hi, If its Sony KDF-E50A12U TV then its problem of weak lamp in TV that will be replaced and problem will be fixed. Lamp light on TV front will lit in case lamp is dead or broken but current symptom shows Lamp is not either dead or broken yet it got weak in result and causing problem. Lamp replacement is easy and would be written in user manual. Please but Sony original lamp for TV safety. Let me know if you have additional question. Thanks.
