I was looking for a manual for my Maxtor one touch III - 500 GB - s/n 2cav32oh - I don't know how to remove any files from my Maxtor in order to free up space. Thank you I'm not sure if I received a manual with this product. [email protected] 313-506-6696

Double-click My Computer. Double click on the removable drive. Double click on the name of the backup? Double click on C. Double click on Documents and Settings. Double click on HP-administrator? Double click on Desktop. Keep or delete what you want. Click the Back button. Double click on My Documents. Keep or delete what you want. Hoe I remembered it all ok. Let me know if you need anything else. Nice talking to you Pauline :)

Maxtor file transfer problems

well..it's possibly the case that the maxtor is looking for mp3 files that are compressed using a different algorithm than what you are sending to it. can you open an mp3 file, and look at the properties, then compare that to your mp3 file specs for your maxtor

Where do I fund a manual, guide, instructions for use

Best bet would be to call or e-mail the company and ask for one....They may charge you to send you one through the mail but I bet you can get a free one if you ask for a PDF in your E-mail!

Maxtor one touch iii unable to read drive; the external hard drive previously worked and now it doesn't read the drive

please remove the raw drive from the casing
it may be a sata drive of maxtor please power it up directly to your pc with a sata power and sata cable
the drive will get recognised .
if it gets recognised it means the interphase between the disk and the ext casing has been damaged

if you fail , the disk has lost its firm ware or rom chip rom bin file.
both can be flashed and recover the drive
BEcaerful you can break the plastic casing while removing the raw drive as it had been machine dyed and fixed and you may not find any screw s outside

Maxtor Onetouch III mini edition

All you should have to do is copy your files from their present folder on your computer to the Maxtor drive; you can find the drive location by clicking on the My Computer icon; or you can drag the files from their present position to the Maxtor.
