ICE MAKER BLINKING ON/OFF. TURN IT OFF & BACK

ICE MAKER BLINKING ON/OFF. TURN IT OFF & BACK ON & WATER GOES INTO ICE TRAY FOR MAYBE 1 SECOND THEN STOPS. THEN THE LIGHT BLINKS AGAIN. TO FILL THE ICE TRAY YOU WOULD HAVE TO TURN ICE MAKER ON/OFF ABOUT 7 TIMES. IT WILL THEN DISPENSE ONE TRAY OF ICE & STOP AGAIN

Ice maker not making ice, water dispenser is dispensing water

Hello Mary Gomez,

You may have nailed it right out of the GATE...
(ICE water solenoid is a great reason...).

There are TWO ICE/water solenoids "TYPICALLY"
(sorry... you only get generic assumptions because
you want to keep your MAKE & MODEL secret).

Feel the cube cells in the tray... If there is ice or water...
your ICE SOLENOID is probably NOT your trouble.

Regardless there are only a couple other reasons
ICE is not being produced ...

1. It is SET to "off" (turn on)
2. You have a head ice-maker failure (replace).

To prove everything else works... See if you can negotiate
a WATER BOTTLE into the area of the tray... (fill).

If you can load water in the tray...
If ICE CUBES are emitted ... the HEAD is OK...
Your water SHOULD BE the issue... (but the ice solenoid is controlled from the head)...

Hey... If it was easy: everybody could do it...

I am here daily

Comment me back with more detail... I can do BETTER.

I sure hope I am helping.

Ice maker on refrigerator does not work at all

Notwithstanding the ABSENCE of MAKE+MODEL...
(REFRIGERATER or ICEMAKER)...

Nothing came through with your "question"... ERGO

Most, generally & typically should be in front of everything that looks or sounds like a FACT.

Every ICE MAKER (I've ever worked on)has an on/off control...
Find it... turn it off, on, off & on several times (cycle the switch
(like lower the FILL wire ... or operate the on/off switch)).

ICE-MAKER heads are a relatively simple device with motor driven electro-mechanical sequencers that time water fill (adjustable), cube "done-ness" ((firmness by adjustable temperature)... and then "operate the fill valve... fill the tray...
Rotate the tray and eject the cubes.. refill with water...

If you can see or feel ice in your TRAY your...
you have NO ISSUE with your WATER VALVE...

To test this... use an ordinary water bottle and Put some water in your ICE TRAY...

Check back in an hour ...if your cubes have been NOT deposited into your ice bin... your ice-maker is turned off, has a open fuse or is defective & needs repair.

If it has ejected your cubes but you have not been refilled your WATER VALVE is defective...
replace it.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool 4317943 Ice Maker Kit The ice tray overfills with water. Excess water drips into the ice bin & freezes

Probably the dual valve (solenoid) the one that opens when the ice maker calls for water is leaking. It's located in the back of the refrigerator at the bottom behind the cover. To be sure this is the problem turn off the ice maker and after a while if is water the valve is leaking ,if not the problem is with the ice maker.

Shelf kitchenaid Refrigerator's ice maker leaking water

Turn off the water line that goes to the refrigerator and see if still leaking if not the problem is with the solenoid valve ,which is an electric valve that opens only when the ice maker calls for water and is located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover(if your refrigerator has water and ice dispenser ,Its called dual valve). And if leaks when you turn on the water ,this part has to be replaced .But if leaks and overflow the ice maker only when it calls for water the problem is in the ice maker and to repair it will cost almost as a new one .

Brand new ice maker, water fill to tray will not shut off

The new ice maker should tell the dual water valve on rear of refrigerator to turn on if the tray makes a complete cycle. So the new ice maker is defective or the water valve on back is stuck open that leads up to the ice maker. Unplug the wires to the water control valve on back of the refrigerator and then turn the ice maker on. If the water continues to flow I recommend replacing the water valve. If the water stops coming to the ice maker I recommend returning the new ice maker. You only need to unplug the side of the water control valve leading to the ice make. I also recommend a pre-filter for the incoming water before the water control valve. Makes the water and ice better and keeps trash from damaging the water control valve. Let me know your results or if you need more assistance, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Kenmore frig ice machine doesn't make cube ice

Normally, the ice "cubes" are crescent shaped. The most likely cause for "crushed" ice is that the ice maker isn't getting enough water on its refill cycle after ejecting the tray. Becuase there isn't enough water, the ice looks crushed...it's actually shattered.

Check the water inlet and chute to the ice maker. Sometimes they freeze and have to be manually defrosted. A hair dryer will do the trick. Also check the water chute and be sure it isn't partially frozen.

Start there...if no luck you could also have a failing water filter or sticky water solenoid valve.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED25PW Ice maker tray not filling with water

Just had this issue - after checking all line connections, I pulled the ice maker feed water line from the back of the unit and found the tube was blocked with ice. Melted the ice with some hot water, and all is good once more. I would check for this before getting into the solinoid.

Frigidaire Icemaker not making ice.

That on/off arm...you should be able to move it and it will likely make a small click when the switch goes on or off. That arm controls the ice making. There is also a float, is it working freely? It has a switch too. Ultimately, the water is controlled by a solenoid valve. It may be defective. Many of these units are removable to test the switches with a multimeter. Turn off the water and remove to test. Some parts are available...some parts are by the unit only.
