Try resetting the brightness control and checking to make sure that the printer cable is securely connected to the computer and the monitor. Your monitor cable may also have a crack or broken wire in it or the connection itself may have come loose.
Try plugging in an external (borrow a friends if necessary) monitor just to check and make sure that the connection on your computer is good and that the problem is not in the wiring of your LCD screen. There are several other things that may help you, let me know if you are still having problems.

Won't recognize ipod touch but shows under my drives

put it in DFU mode while connected to the computer. to do this, hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds and then let go of the power but keep on holding the home for 10 secs. the screen will be black and nothing will show up. go to itunes and click on your ipod on the left. then click restore. this should work.

Monitor shows screen then goes black

It is the Monitor Cable connected to the CPU cabinet is faulty. Please check out the cable and its pin firmly.

Try to find the fault, may be the cable broken or tear up.

Let me know if further diagnose required.

Have a nice day.

Have ethernet connection that works on everyone elses computer but mine. my computer is a compaq persario v2000 running windows xp, when I bring up the properties of the conection is shows connected at 100...

Try using the internet wizard connection, in there... choose the right connection, first bullet button is DIRECT CONNECTION and the second one is thru a SERVER... etc. there are samples there. Then on the properties of your network under DNS setting try using Auto... if not use the one given by an ISP. Also set IE connection setting to LAN and again set to AUTO...keep me posted if you still have the problem. Good luck!!!
