Chances are that you won't need a new remote. Universal remotes often have a code-search feature in case the codes provided don't work. I suggest looking in the instructions (if you have them) for a "code search." If you don't have the instructions, you could google your universal remote manufacturer and model number and see if you can find an online manual.

If you get an universal remote, you won't have all functions to control the TV. Moreover, the codes for many audiovox model are often not reported on universal remote manuals , therefore you may need to use autodetect feature on universal remote.
The best choice is buying a replacement original remote like the ones below:
Go to any store that sells universal remotes, such as Walmart. The codes for different TVs are listed in any new universal remote control package. A new one only costs $10.00 or so anyway!
