MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Board is not recognizing my 80G Maxtor drive. I had no problems, turned it on and it said my win32 file was missing/corrupt. Upon further inspection found that my drive is simply not visible any longer. I tried to change the connection (via/promise) but am met with having one drive as a problem with other chipset. Any help?
With AmiBios you may be able to get it to rediscover your drive... If that doesn't work, open the case and check your IDE and SATA connections. Sounds like you have a RAID configuration with your Promise board.
Not sure I've helped, but you have some clues to check on. Probably visiting Promise's website and looking for troubleshooting may help.
If your Maxtor drive is a SMART drive, you might be able to check to see if it indeed has failed.
