You will need to perform a factory reset ( in the settings menu). this will reset the amount of time that the picture remains on the screen after taking a picture, this should also have the additional desired effect of allowing you to view the image in playback for as long as you like.

Why, when i take a picture and try to see it it comes up with a picture error on my sp-600z camera

The manual says:

Problem with selected image
Use photo retouch software, etc. to view the image on a computer. If the image still cannot be viewed, the image file is corrupted.

But try this. Switch of the camera, remove the battery and memory card. Check if all contacts are clean and shiny. On the battery, on the memory card and in the camera. Then replace the battery and memory card and switch on.
I hope this solves the problem.

Took 5 pictures and camera said memory full. shouldnt it take more pictures than that?

Generally there ara two memories in a camera. First one is internal memory but some camera does not have internal memory. Second one is memory card. There are a couple of memory card models are used in cameras. These days SD/SDHC cards getting very famous in the market. According to your settings generally cameras use firstly its internal memory and automatically passes to the memory card. But if there is no memory card in camera then it gives a message that its memory full. You should control if there is a memory card in your camera.

FOR error message when inserting a memory card with photos

You should try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your digital memory card, here are some for your options.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

Worked for some

hello,
what operating system are you using? 98se, Xp or vista?

the usb change on your camera to mass storage works good with XP & Vsta.

if selected, you wont see scanner and camera wizard ever again.

when pugging your camera into your pc, the autorun window pops up like you just plugged in a USB jump drive in.

on view file you can drag the whole folder onto your desktop from the camera and rename the folder once done.

if the photos are showing up unable to view photo, file could be corrupt.

ive seen bad memory cards do this. then try another card.

good luck.

I dont know who to put the pics on the computer

Putting your pictures on you computer can be done in a couple of ways.

1. You can connect the camera to the computer, using the supplied cable, and then turn on the power to the camera. Your computer should detect the new camera device, and within 'Windows Explorer', you should 'see' your camera as a new device, which you can click on to view / manage your new pictures from there.

2. You could remove the memory card from the camera, and place it in the memory card reader of your computer, or alternatively purchase an inexpensive adapter to read memory cards, which would then connect to an available USB port on your computer.

The advantage of the second option is that you don't need the camera present, nor need a camera powered on during viewing.

Hope this information helps,

Erik.
