Palm Tungsten E2 won't work after power cord is removed.

I recently replaced the battery in my PDA. The PDA worked fine until it was time to recharge the new battery. Even with the power cord plugged in, the PDA wouldn't come on. The power cord seemed to be the problem so I replaced it.
With the new power cord, the battery indicator shows that the battery is 100% charged but the PDA comes on but only when the power cord is plugged in. It does not come on without the power cord. Somehow the battery power is not keeping the PDA on.
I have tried both a hard and soft reset with no results. I have also unplugged the battery from the motherboard and plugged it back to no avail.
Any ideas on what might be wrong? Could the battery be faulty?

The traditional steps for resetting charging problems are:
1) press reset /while/ the power cord is plugged in
2) unplugging the battery for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in

You have done #2, but I do not know if you have done #1. Try it, then try to recharge again. If that fails then you probably need a new battery. I have found them on eBay before.

The card is too big for the Palm to read.  You can try 1 gig.  2 gig will work on a TX.

The digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.

You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.

Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.

Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it

you need to uninstall the version of palm desktop that you alredy have and install the 4.14 palm desktop, with the hotsync manager that 4.14 includes you should have no more problems

The battery has most likely been damaged and will no longer retain a charge. A replacement battery should work.

Tungsten E2 wont power on
Turn it on pressing the reset at the same time or take out battery and unplug/plug the battery. Your battery may have died. If this is helpful, post as such. If it is a fixya, post as such. I had an E2, can tell you alot about it. TY

Damaged screen
Try a hard reset and if that doesn't work, drain your battery then recharge it. if that doesn't work than you'll just have to deal with it. I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and it has the same problem

Audio doesn't work on Tungsten E2.
I was reading about this guy who'll do it for alot less here's the URL to the page

If you wanted to do it yourself youll need to get a PDA repair kit for 9.95 from pdasmart.com and pop it open (4 torx screws and use a shim tool to pry it open , be careful) and follow anti static procedures ( touch a metal object frequently ) once open check the contacts for the speaker and while your at it the head phone jack if they look fine they may need cleaning. use your favorite electronics cleaner and clean them. This is only if your lucky you'll probably need to replace one/both by placing a soldering iron and melting the contacts off and getting a replacement part and soldering it carefully in place, you'll get a replacement from another broken T|E \ T|E2 or from a PDA replacements parts store of your choice

a refurbished T|X at PDAsmart will cost you $199 if I were to spend any money it wouldn't be at the Palm repair shop

Tungsten E2 PDA battery
E2 has a great battery might not be it. Its not easyly replaceable like in some other models.

the battery can be replaced by a professional or by yourself.

The pda should work on charger? does it work while pluged in?
If it doesnt work while its pluged in theres something more seriour wrong with it.

You can try soft and hard reseting.

If you cant open pdf files you need to find yourself pdf reader, google pdf reader and get one.

If soft or hardreset have any effect and the device still doesnt work even on charger then it has a hardware issue and I recommend contacting palm or the place where you bought the pda and findout about repairs and possible price, may be high.
